5.0 out of 5 stars ¡Cielos Santos! ¡Los Monstruos!
This movie is absolutely so bad it's fantastic and I love it. The essence of a camp classic.

Evil clones! Bad makeup! Unnecessary monsters! Nonsensical plot! Gratuitous wrestling moves! Zombie slaves! Vampire Hos! A Cyclops! The most unconvincing vampires since Edward Cullen! (well, at least he doesn't sparkle.)

3.0 out of 5 stars Los Luchadores!
This was my first mexican wrestler film, so maybe I missed a few things. From what I could figure out, an evil doctor (the brother of our hero's girlfriend) comes back from the dead looking for revenge. On who? I'm not sure about that. This was my first mexican wrestler film, so maybe I missed a few things. From what I could figure out, an evil doctor (the brother of our hero's girlfriend) comes back from the dead looking for revenge. On who? I'm not sure about that. I'd think it would be Santo, as he spends a lot of time grousing about how much he hates him and his pal Blue Demon, but when given the tools for vengance--a legion of mythical creatures that are loyal only to him--he has them kill random people. Maybe this is a statement about how vengance really affects everyone. Anyway, Blue Demon is out of the action for most of the film, leaving Santo to battle Frankenstein, El Hombre Lobo, and the rest of the mythical baddies. The problem is that Santo really isn't a very effective fighter and he spends most of his time losing. Realistic? Yes. Entertaining? Heck yeah. Santo spends a lot of time hitting the bad guys and executing the occasional wrestling move. He also wears a three piece suit into battle as well. I figure that the director was trying to make a statement about the futility of businessmen to be able to tame the primal forces of nature. Or not. Footnote: I've had DVD's refuse to let me skip menus, but this disc has numerous previews (about seven minutes worth) that cannot be skipped. Big deal, you say. How about this? I tried to give up and press STOP and it told me that "this action was not allowed by disc!"

Santo stopping his car in the middle of the road JUST TO MAKE OUT WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND. THE GIRLFRIEND WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE DAUGHTER OF THE BROTHER OF THE EVIL GENIUS BROUGHT BACK FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE BY HIS FAITHFUL HUNCHBACK DWARF WALDO TO WREAK HAVOC UPON THE CITY.

This movie has it all, and then some. Make sure you watch it with a group of friends, a heap of popcorn, and your tongue firmly planted in your cheek.

Te amo, Santo. Viva Mexico!
