About the Author

Lorenzo Herrera y Lozano is a queer Xicano writer born and raised somewhere between Chihuahua and California. He writes to end the perpetual family value of silence. He currently resides in Austin, Tejas, where he works as the Executive Director of ALLGO, a queer people of color organization.

Lorenzo Herrera y Lozano is a queer Xicano writer of Rarámuri descent born in San José, CA and raised in Estación Adela, Chihuahua. A St. Edward's University Masters of Liberal Arts graduate, he is the author of _Santo de la Pata Alzada: Poems from the Queer/Xicano/Positive Pen_ (Evelyn Street Press), editor of _Queer Codex: Chile Love_ (allgo/Evelyn Street Press) and _Queer Codex: ROOTED!_ (allgo/Evelyn Street Press), as well as the forthcoming _Joto: An Anthology of Queer Xicano & Chicano Poetry_ (Kórima Press). A member of the Macondo Writing Workshop, his work also appears in _Mariposas: A Modern Anthology of Queer Latino Poetry_ (Floricanto Press), _ZYZZYVA: the journal of West Coast writers and artists_, and _Yellow Medicine Review: A Journal of Indigenous Literature, Art, and Thought_.
