I was a little skeptical of all the glowing reviews regarding these Sanuks, but when I first tried them on I was amazed at how comfortable they are. The footbed is amazing; it's like walking on air. My wife commented that when I wear them I walk differently, as though I'm barefoot. They're a little pricey, but I'm glad I made the purchase, and I wear them every chance I get. I'd love to wear them to work, but I'm a lawyer and that probably wouldn't be looked upon very favorably.

A couple of quibbles, though -- the shoes don't breathe all that well, so if I wear them a couple of days in a row they start to retain foot odor. I emailed Sanuk, and they advised me that I can put them in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. That does help with odor issues, but I would think frequent washing would shorten the shoes' life span. On a related note, I am also a little disappointed at the speed in which the soles began showing wear (I don't think that would be caused by washing). I've only been wearing the Sanuks on weekends for a couple of months now, yet the tread on the soles are already rubbed completely smooth in some spots. However, the uppers are still in great shape.

My complaints notwithstanding, I am very pleased with my Sanuks.

Great fell, great look, just a laid back kinda style that no one else can create. When you break these guys in it's like they're not even there. You will love them. I've had them for six months and I've worn them everyday, and they still got at least 3 months left. Definitely buying another pair.

I recieved the hemp sanuk sidewalk surfers for my birthday in may, and here it is october and I'm still wearing them. They're snappy and comfortable. My old man even has a pair he wears as house shoes.

I bought these for my husband because of the experience I had with my Plain Jane Sanuks. (My story about them is below.) He loves them and finds them very comfortable.
My husband brought me back a pair when he was in Florida. I HATE my feet (Especially my toes) so I refuse to buy open toe shoes. I sware...open toe shoes are like the ONLY summer shoes on the market for women. I didn't want heavy, bulky sneakers that make your feet sweat from the moment you put them on. AND I didn't want to have to wear socks. I am particular. I wanted them to feel good, look good, and NOT make my feet stink after a few days of wearing. My husband thinks I am crazy...but he understands how I feel about my feet...so when he saw these he figured he would get them for me. I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first...but quickly fell in love. They are so light and airy. Comfortable is an understatement. I wear them 24/7 everyday. I have 3 little ones and am on the go and on my feet ALL DAY!! To stop them from stinking after a few days, I tried Crocs innersoles. That worked like a dream. I have washed my original pair twice (which I got in April) and only had to because they are white and had dripped something on them. NOTE: I am usually a size 10..but they seemed a little snug (with the innersoles) so I bought an 11. When I first put them on I thought they might be a bit small as well...but wasn't going through the trouble of returning them again. With in a few hours it was like the shoe formed perfectly to my feet. It was AMAZING. I HIGHLY recommend them!!

yes, these are comfortable shoes. You might guess they don't go well with socks; I wear size 10, and they fit pretty snug. I like 'em.

These are the best Sanuks I have ever owned. They are very lightweight and let my breath well. The color is exactly what I wanted and they are made out of the best material known to man :)

My only complaint is they start to smell over time. I have to wash mine every two weeks.

Sanuk is the best casual shoe brand currently making casual surf style shoes that can be worn anywhere, period. I've worn the pair that i'm reviewing to a concert, to work, and around the house. I actually don't wear any other brand of shoe other than cross trainers for working out. I have about 6 differnt styles and they're all great. The best way to get these wonderful shoes/sandals hybrids is to get them through Amazon or one of it's venders. Great deals, no tax, no shipping (if you have amazon prime) and a better return policy than most storefronts. You can't go wrong and they are one comfortable shoe if you give them a chance.

Amazon is the best! Timely delivery. My 25yr old son loved these shoes, very cool and casual. The fit was great. He is actually a size 12 and I gave him a size 11 and the they fit great

Great product and price..I have another pair of these, and definitely they feel like walking sandals... you can have them on the entire day. I would for sure get me another pair. I am just waiting to see if they come out with another Hemp design, since for some reason they feel better than the regular canvas material.
