My husband loves Sanuk's. This is his first pair of Loafer Sanuk's. They were a bit snug when he first wore them, but they have broke in a little now. Only thing is, he already busted the bottom part of the shoe a little and these shoes weren't that cheap. He still likes them and I am gonna call the Sanuk place to see if we can replace them b/c I just bought them for Christmas.

My husband has one pair of Sanuks we bought in a store two years ago that he has worn constantly. They are still in pretty good shape (the only real wear is on the bottom of the shoe- I mean sandal). We purchased two more of the canvas shoes a month ago for him and he has loved them all. We bought these leather shoes for a friend who loves loafers and I just wanted to write my initial thoughts.
For some reason the pictures made me think the shoe would be bulkier than the canvas Sanuks. The only part that is slightly bulkier is the heel portion.
The bed of the shoe is different from the other Sanuks (eg Sidewalk Surfer). It has a pebbled (soft) texture to the sole. It is still very comfortable.
I'm very excited to give these to our friend.

This is the best leather sandal out there. Both in looks and in comfort. I like the rustic look, so the fact they arrived in a bag, just added to their charm. I know Sanuk doesn't have much in the way of arch support. I own a few pairs. When I received my Sumos, I immediately put in a cushioned sports insole with strong arch support. Of course I tried them on 1st without one. Without one, I could also see that the back (achilies heel) area would cause a blister until the were broken in. With a top quality arch support insole inserted, it raised my foot where the heel doesn't rub at all. And with a new insole added to Sumos insole, it is very Cush. The next thing I did is liberally sprinkle a Sandalwood talcum powder into each sandal. This made slipping them on a breeze, and will take care of odor in time. I plan to use the talcum powder periodically in the future. So ..... right out of the box (bag), I have comfort established. Of course I am keeping the receit in case of the sole separation I have read about. But at this point in time ..... Ahaaa!

This is my sixth pair of them. I wear them all the time. The heal wears out and time to get another pair. My son usually fights me to wear them.

Frankly I am a bit disappointed. I expected to find the same degree of comfort as my sanuk hemp sandals, but this is not the case with the sumos.
First of all I've had them for ovewr a week and I am still "breaking them in".
The problem I think might be the rugged leather uppers. The upper part of the shoe or "toe box" is too tight: L>R. Also, and this only happened with the right loafer, the achilles notch or "heel counter" made a small "rubbing" wound, called a "abrasion" in medical terms; this small wound is now healing. In order to keep on weariing them, I resorted to wearing low ankle socks, which is helping.
Don't get me wrong I am still satisfied with the worn look and yes..the comfort. I am hoping that after a few more days, they will be fine.
I shall keep you posted...As always I hope this humbly submitted review was helpful.

UPDATE: As I had expected, after "breaking in" the loafers fit just right and the "rubbing" on the heel is no longer a problem. Very nice shoes, ahem, sandals. I also love the freedom of wearing them everywhere!!!
I will be ordering the Kingston loafers.

Very nice looking. Takes some time to break them in. Comfortable foot bed. A bit expensive. Hope they hold up.

Unfortunately these leather Sanuks are very uncomfortable. I have several other pairs of Sanuk shoes that are so easy to slip on and are so comfortable to wear. These leather Sanuks are simply terrible; the leather is very hard and it was difficult to get my feet into them. Once they were on I knew that there were foot blisters ready to happen. The leather felt like it would never soften nor stretch with wear and I wasn't willing to deal with any breaking in period. Amazon as always handled my return promptly and professionally. Here's hoping that Sanuk does a redo with their leather shoe-I was looking forward to replacing my Topsiders.

The design and manufacturing are consistent w/ Sanuk quality but for some reason this shoe runs tight... I normally wear a 9.5 and my other Sanuks are 9s so I figured buying a 10 would allow for some socks during our lovely months of winter in Rhode Island but I was sadly mistaken. The 10s are really tight without socks and almost suffocating w/ them. Could be because the leather needs stretching but I'm thinking it was a defect....Oh well still like them enough to work with the fit : )

My first impression, visually, was that the pair I received were darker, smoother and had much less of the "distressed" look compared with the ad photo. Upon first trying them on they seemed a bit tight and I was concerned about the fit. Within an afternoon they had broken in nicely and are now quite comfortable. Seems like a good, sturdy shoe and I'm basically pleased.

Made by the same company that makes the Vagabond loafer shoes but for some reason they fail to use the same sizing. I ordered the same size but it was to large. I just sent it back and got what I already knew works for me.
