Sanuk, January 27, 2010
I love the shoe, but had to return them and buy it 2 sizes bigger that I normally wear. These shoes run VERY SMALL so if you wear a size and 1/2, round it up and add a size. Other than that, they are SO comfortable. I love them. I also had to pay more for the next pair, when I sent them back to get a larger size.

Super-cute, super-lightweight, December 30, 2011
This review is from: Sanuk Women's Scribble Sidewalk Surfer (Apparel)
I love these shoes. I bought them to have something lightweight and pretty to wear while commuting. I switch to fancier shoes when I get to work or an appointment. They are perfect and are easy to stick in my bag. I like them so much, I've started wearing them for everyday as well. Glad I stumbled across them on this site while looking at the Toms/Bobs of the world.
The shoes do run big, as others have said. When in doubt, order a size down.

A cute, comfortable, and WASHABLE shoe, December 18, 2011
This review is from: Sanuk Women's Scribble Sidewalk Surfer (Apparel)
My wife looked long and hard at these Sanuk Sidewalk Surfers before finally deciding to spring for them. The price seemed a little high considering what they are, but she says they're worth it. She wears flip-flops year round and wanted a little something more for winter. Also, her doctor told her to avoid flip-flops (she doesn't, but she looks for the ones with good support and exceptional fit, e.g., Teva Olawahus, Reef Slaps, most Keens).
She says these are a great alternative, quite comfortable and "barely there". However, they could have more in the way of arch support. Also, the insoles don't absorb any perspiration at all (like Keens). She thinks people with really sweaty feet might not appreciate this.
But at least they're washable! She wears them for a day or two and then runs them through our front loader and air dries them. Only time will tell if they hold up as well as her higher quality flip-flops. The fabric does stretch (just a little) as you wear it, but shrinks back to its original size once it's washed.
She understands why people might be confused about the sizing. She normally wears a half size, so she went up on the first pair she bought (the Donna). They were a little big, fitting best with socks (which sort of misses the point), but she wears them anyway.
So when she ordered her second pair (the Scribble), she ordered down. They fit her perfectly - that is, now that she knows what "perfect" is for this shoe. The sole juts out past the back of the heel a little, as if it's a little too big for the upper (fabric) part of the shoe. Maybe that's just one of the hazards of having a flimsy upper, because I've noticed other cloth shoes - mostly house slippers - with this problem too. This quirk (the reason it got four stars instead of five) might cause someone to believe the shoes are too big, when really it's just the way they're made.
Oh, and she says it looks like these will probably be more robust than the Donnas, which have unfinished edges.
