I received my four Sanus System speaker stands and was pleasantly surprised by their quality, and by how easy they were to assemble. They fit and hold my Klipsch Quintet speakers perfectly -- with the brackets specially designed for this model of speakers. The stands also come with several plates that fit a variety of speaker types.
The stands are easy to adjust up and down, and are not top heavy with my speakers. While the black coating is very nice, it is loosely bonded to the metal. I dropped a screw on the floor plate and it nicked the paint to bare metal. By the way, I found the instructions easy to understand and follow, so perhaps they have been updated. Here's a tip during assembly, especially if you are using 14-ga lamp cord: insert the cord into the tubes before you screw the tube to the floor plate. Final comment: great stands at a great price. Highly recommended.

Overall Good Stands,

This review is from: Sanus Systems EF-SATB Euro Foundations Adjustable Satellite Speaker Stands, Black (Pair) (Electronics)
I purchased two pairs of these stands to mount my Sapphire Speakers that I purchased from Tweeter. After a trip to the hardware store to buy some nuts, bolts and washers I was able to mount my surround speakers with the included L-Brackets. Threading the wire through the poles was very easy. The finish is a "crackle" paint and they look good with my high gloss "piano black" speakers.
On the downside, my front speakers are taller and the L-Brackets were too short so I had to make an extension so they were long enough to mount to the speakers. I am lucky I have access to a metal shop so making the extension was easily done. Since I mounted the extension to the back of the L-Bracket it really isn't visible, but I would have preferred a properly sized bracket. Also one of the stands was damaged so I had to repair a threaded hole so it would assemble to the bracket. This required another trip to the hardware store to purchase a tap. The stands seem to be stable, but they could be easily knocked over. I would feel more comfortable with slightly larger and heavier bases. The stands are really easy to assemble, but as another reviewer stated the instructions aren't written clearly. Overall I would still recommend the stands. They are still better than most of the competition.

I bought these speaker stands for use with an Infinity TS-1100 system. They work very well with these speakers (there were no reviews beforehand). There were a few minor issues with trying to get 14 gauge speaker wire through the holes so I left the wires hanging (not very appealing to the eyes but it works).

I've had the stands for about a week. I ordered my stands online, because the "big name" stores like Best Buy and Circuit City in my area were sold out since Christmas. I like them enough that I'm going to order another set.
PROS: *Reasonable Price (plus, free shipping from Amazon) *Hides the wires inside of the pole *Adjustable height (helps with proper speaker placement and sound) *Nice look CONS: *Directions included with the product are a bit unclear (only reason I didn't give it 5 stars)

While attractively inexpensive, these speaker stands are not suited for anything other than the smallest speakers and the smallest budget. I've owned these stands for only a little over a month and already one of them has been knocked over twice, resulting in a busted speaker.
Upon opening the box, I found hardware to suit a great deal of speaker choices, including my Klipsch RX5's. There is also hardware for my Klipsch bookshelf set. The instructions clearly indicated that both speakers were "compatible". However, in practise these stands cannot support the weight of these larger speakers and are VERY top-heavy after assembly. The problem is twofold: 1) The base has almost no weight whatsoever, offering no counterbalancing. 2) The stands are so flimsy that the tube leans slightly on the base, even when fully tightened. This puts the centre of gravity too far outside the base. For the RX5's, this didn't seem to be a problem at first because the speakers are set evenly over the tube, so the leaning effect was mild. However after mounting the bookshelf speakers the centre of gravity is so far forward that the stands wobble and fall over immediately under the weight of the speakers alone. The RX5 mounts stayed upright until a few days ago, when my dog brushed against one of them and sent it toppling. The speaker was ruined as it hit the floor and will need to be replaced. I feel as though i need to point out that the dog only nudged the stand, it didn't take much force at all to send my speaker to its grave. Since then I've yet to remove the speaker and stand (for aesthetic purposes until I get a new one) and it has since fallen again- this time because the first crash loosened the tube from the base even more, which makes the contraption even more wobbly. I gave the product two stars instead of one because this product might work well for someone with ultra-compact speakers, the kind that are only about six inches tall. If you have this kind of extremely small and lightweight speakers you will probably be happy with these stands. However, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who has larger speakers, a child, a dog, a cat, a rabbit, a mouse, or anything else that might disturb the stand at all.

Do NOT go to the BB & CCs of the world to purchase your stands. They are so over-priced as many other reviewers have already attested.
The stands are very sturdy and were a breeze to install. Threading the speaker wire is the only thing that took a while. I have hardwood floors so I used the rubber bottoms. However, they were not a snug fit to the holes as everytime I picked them up to re-position them they fell out. A little super glue solved that little issue. The bonus is that there are so many types of brackets so don't throw the extras away because you may need them down the road if you plan to change your theater system which I intend to do. I have small satelite speakers but plan to go to a medium size and believe that the base is sturdy enough to handle the added weight and am not worried of having any top-heavy issues. I got the free shipping which supposedly takes a little longer to arrive but I ordered it on a Wednesday and it arrived the following Monday. I have had a home theater system for a good 5 years and I could never justify paying the inflated retail costs for the stands. I simply placed the satelite speakers on both ends of my couch and it was sooo G.H.E.T.T.O. I am a new user of Amazon(not to online purchasing)and am very pleased so far and a believer! I just bought the Samsung LN-S4095D 40" 1080p LCD HDTV on this site(saving 30%)so I felt compelled to update my theater system too with the speaker stands. I am looking forward to enjoying my new wall mounted TV in style with my new (and inexpensive) speaker stands.

Work great for Polk Audio RM8 Speakers,

Since I could not find any information on this when I was looking, I wanted to let people know that these stands work great with the Polk Audio RM8 satellite speakers, no customization needed. No need to spend $150 of more on their proprietary stands. These are great stands with a heavy base to help prevent them from being knocked over as well. I did not have too much trouble feeding the wires through but did need a thin pair of needle nose pliers to get the wire end out.

The only other stands I could find for the Quintet III's was
the Omnimount Sat2 that are nearly impossible to find in stock. And if you do find them they are right around 100 bucks a pair. I bought 2 pair of the Sanus for a 100 bucks and they work great. My only suggestion would be to try and set them in a low traffic area, because if they are bumped, being kind of top heavy (with the klipsch's) will end up toppled on the floor. Also, use the spikes on carpeting for a good grip.

Works with Onkyo HTIB speakers,

I spent some time trying to find speaker stands that would be compatible with my Onkyo HTS-6100 HTIB system. Alot of stands are made for smaller speakers, making them unstable for the heavier Onkyo speakers.
I used the included L brackets in the box. I had to use nuts, bolts, and washers from my collection at home to make this work, as the included ones weren't the right size to work with the speakers. But, it can be done and looks good.

Other reviewers described how these speaker stands worked well or not quite so well in various situations. These reviews helped me decide to try them - my surround speakers are flat bottomed about 6.5 inches wide and 8 inches long and weight 7.5 lbs. The largest top plate or speaker support plate included with the stands is 5 inches square. Sanus does include many different brackets, parts and screws with the stands. I wanted the speakers to just sit on top of a plate or "table". Off on a trip to Home Depo where I bought 2 pieces of 8 X 10 inch lexan (for 8 X 10 picture frames) for $3.00 each and a roll of double-sided tape for $5.00. I cut 4 inches off the 10 inch side with a small hand saw to make a 6 X 10 inch "table" and used four pieces of the double-sided tape to stick this to the 5 inch plate included with the stand - after first screwing the 5 inch plate to the speaker "pole" - it is not beyond me to afix the lexan to the 5 inch plate first - and then realize I can't screw the plate to the pole because I just covered the screw hole!!!LOL. I sanded smooth the sawed side and used four 1 inch felt feet on the speaker All this turned out ok. Also used 12 gauge speaker wire. This threaded through the bottom pole slot ok - tough getting it through the smaller top slot. Used straightened paper clips and needle-nosed pliers to make hooks on the paper clip ends - had to use two - to get the wire started through the pole top slot. Pushed wire through the bottom and wiggled it through the top slot to get about 10 inches - enough to connect to bannana connectors in speaker. It's been said that these stands won't do well with heavier speakers and I also don't think they would do well with any speaker over 10 lbs.. Good luck..
