I purchased these stands to support my Yamaha HS80M monitors (each about 35 lbs, from Amazon). They are very stable, and I particularly like the range and quality of mounting options. I use HS80Ms with my Roland RD700GX piano, and 26" stands put the tweeters right at ear height, where they should be.

I purchased (from Amazon, where else?) some E-Z LOK Threaded Inserts For Soft Wood, and inserted them into the center-base of each speaker. That allowed me to rest the speakers on the 4 adjustable studs, while having a screw to make sure the speakers stayed in place, and were safe from being knocked off the stands. The mounting plates on the stands are already pre-drilled for this (and almost any other speaker mounting configuration) so mounting was straightforward. This method of mounting provides (I feel) the absolute greatest acoustic isolation possible for the monitor (much better than sticky tape or wood screws, both of which invite speaker cabinet coupling with the stand). I've uploaded photos to show how I mounted the speakers on these stands.

The two steel tubes that hold the monitors are very solid, yet are isolated from the top plate with cork disks, and from the floor plate with rubber. They can be filled with sand for further damping (I didn't do this, as it seemed a bit excessive and messy ... but you could).

I can't think of any 'cons' with respect to these stands. Someone mentioned that they need instructions; but simply go to the Sanus website to download instruction PDFs and you have all you need.

Appearance = A+. Yamaha's monitors are black, and the speaker stands perfectly match the speakers. I purchased these on sale for $99 for the pair, which is very reasonable for this level of quality. I can't imagine that I could ever improve on these stands for my objectives, and am very happy with my purchase.

Sturdy, reliable and well made. I have a pair of B&W 602S2.5's on these and they have stood up perfectly for the past few years. No rattles, the carpet spikes work very well and the adjustment spikes under the speakers work like a charm. I did add velcro/hook and loop strips to the bottom of the speakers and top of the stands and now I never worry about the speakers shifting or falling; my cat will even jump on top of the speakers and they don't move.Assembly was simple, and I have not filled the pillars yet as I haven't felt the need is there for these speakers.

I am subtracting one star for two reasons: I would have liked to see some rubber feet that match up to the bottom of the plastic feet so that when they are put on surfaces like hardwood or tile they don't walk with the music (this can be mitigated by filling the pillars with shot), and the pillars on mine never really secure tight enough (I'm concerned about stripping screws) to prevent any twist of the top platform. Mine are tight enough that you really have to twist, but it would be nice to see a 2 or 3 screw attachment system at the top and bottom of the pillars as opposed to just one screw in each end.

Heavy duty and all parts fit perfectly. Took about 20 minutes to put both stands together. Only gripe is that the cable guides are removable thin plastic holes that snapped the first time I pulled my cable through. Better to just use zip ties if you want to bind the cable to the rear vertical post. Other than that, the stands are an outstanding value. I doubt you can buy a better set (new) for the price. You can fill with sand if desired so that's a bonus.

These stands are very nice. The instructions are lacking though. There isn't alot of parts though so it's not too confusing. Delivery from vanns was extremely quick.

These are very nice and do the job. Easy to assemble. Solid as a rock. Holding up my SVS Bookshelf speakers at 35 lbs each just fine. The best complement is they are so nice I do not notice them at all.

Excellent quality, easy to assemble, sturdy speaker stands! Highly recommended for large shelf speakers. Speakers stay isolated and barely move if brushed.
