Becareful when you unpack the shelving materials. There are 8 circular styrofoam spacers on two square sheets of styrofoam that look like packing material. You could easily damage the styrofoam if you don't notice them. Other than that, the table was very easy to assemble. It looks great and seems to be very strong.

Sure, there may be other racks that put looks over function, but if you need deep shelves with large openings for your phat gear, this is the value buy.

I bought this thing to house my home theater gear and a 200 CD changer. The CD changer alone is 19 inches deep and 7 inches tall and just won't fit into a fancy stand sporting a wire blind or shabby 4-6 inch shelf spacing. The AV receiver is pretty big, too... almost as big as the changer -- and it gets pretty hot to boot. The open rack design keeps the air flowing and helps to prevent any meltdowns.

So, if you have "real" gear and want an inexpensive solution, the Sanus AFA models may be for you.

I bought 2 of these from amazon it is a nice piece of furnature it is very easy to put together and it is very strong i have both filled with heavy recievers and amps dvd and cd players i especially like it because of its open back and side design it keeps the electronics cool a nice a/v stand

The Sanus AFA system is great. It was a breeze to put together, it's expandable, and it looks amazing in my office. The top is a great place for a large turntable (the whole reason I bought the system) and the MDF shelves provide some decent sound dampening. The extra height between shelves allows all your components to breathe, which especially important with large receivers/amps. Each shelf has a cable management holes in it, except for the very top one.

Overall this is a great product.

I had been on the look out for a stand for the AV gear in my workout room when I ran across this one. I pulled the trigger after a price drop on the item from Amazon.

The stand is a snap to assemble (took about 5 minutes) and is very solid. I have a hard time believing the person who claims it fell apart with 50 lbs on it. I have 80 lbs on it now and it feels strong enough that I could put another 80 lbs on there.

The stand is a good height for putting a modest sized LCD TV on top and still having more than enough room for all of your components below. The three large "bays" can take just about any sized component you can dish out... although I suppose if you had massive amplifiers, etc, that weighed a ton then you might need to invest in something a little heavier built just to be on the safe side.

In any event this stand looks really good, the metal tubes have a textured satin finish, my wife is really picky about furniture and she commented on how good it looked.

For the asking hard it would be extremely difficult to do better than this.

I spent quite some time trying to find an audio/TV rack for my bedroom. I have one of those oversized mattresses. The total height of the bed frame, box-spring, and mattress is around 35". Because of this, I was having a terrible time trying to find a decent looking rack that could hold my 46" flat screen that was high enough to see while laying in bed.

Since I liked the basic design of the Sanus AFA stand, it dawned on me that I may be able to combine two of them to reach the desired height. I'm happy to say that it worked! When you combine two, you can use four smaller shelves and the top shelf. The total height of the two racks combined (5-Shelves) is about 42 1/4". You'll also have an extra top shelf in case the first gets scratched up, or you can use the extra top shelf as the base shelf.

Even with the double stack, the unit appears to be very strong and stable. My tv weighs around 40 lbs., which is well under the 215 lb limit, and doesn't cause the unit to wobble. The other shelves are weighted with a center channel speaker and a couple of receivers.

I originally thought that the surface of the unit was going to be slightly rough, but it is actually smooth and has a nice semi-gloss lacquer-like appearance. It actually looks very decent for a budget stand.

The stands were shipped in their retail boxes. Basically, a tag was slapped on them and they were shipped out. One of the cylinders was slightly crushed, but useable. In addition, it looked like I received one that was previous returned. Two of the shelves has some scrapes, or something, on their bottoms. It really didn't matter to me though since I placed them closest to the floor. I guess if I laid on my back I could see the scratches. LOL

In any event, this is a very nice unit and I would recommend it to anybody that needs a good quality rack at a great price.

I assembled it in 10 minutes, clean contemporary look. I have a 32 in. LCD TV on top, a VCR, a DVD player, a 200 CD changer and an amplifier and they all fit beautifully. I am considering buying an additional shelf just to add a bit more storage and to heighten the TV (my kids are always blocking my view!) and this would save me from wall-mounting the TV though this is a great height now. I also thought I'd be bothered by having all my electronics visible and considered an enclosed unit, but this stand unites the look, is not as overbearing as some units that "hide" media equipment, and just looks sleak.

Very easy to assemble, has very classic lines, lets stereo equipment have plenty of ventilation, hard to find add-on shelf in maple. Holds a lot of equipment.

This stand was easy to assemble and seems quite sturdy & looks good in my living room. I am using it to store boxes of CD's, but I may order a second unit to replace my old stereo rack stand. One drawback is that the top shelf has no hole to pass cords through, which would facilitate putting an amplifier or tuner on top. However, the shelves are interchangable, so I suggest that you put a shelf with a hole in it on the top, and put the "top shelf" with no hole in it on the bottom, where you don't really need a hole.

I've had seven different stereo systems in the last 30 years and my amplifier weights 50 pounds and so does my cd player and this rack is the strongest I've had for the least amount of money, and it took me only 30 minutes to put it together. I love it !!
