These are stands you are looking for!,

Thick sturdy construction, proper height adjustble as per Dolby "above the ear". Beats all ear level rear speaker stand setup's. Rubber pads for tile floor or spikes for carpet, also selection of brackets for all speaker sizes. Hides wires and price is right. I will never have to buy another speaker stand again even if I upgrade my system or speakers! Great purchase! Don't be fooled by low price leader... look at shipping cost. I purchased mine from Amazon with a zero SUPER SAVER shipping. Do the math first. Stop shopping the SANUS HF1B is perfect for the audio consious!

These stands are best for larger bookshelf type speakers. They are extremely sturdy, but their beefiness makes them inappropriate for smaller sats, which I had. With bigger speakers, they look and perform great.

Look like professional stands,

Material quality is very good. Very sturdy. No fear they'll tip over, even with them adjusted to full height. The massive bases are the key.Comes with both the straight and bent necks. Ships with straight neck installed, and removing it and installing the bent necks is a lot of physical work, but the end result is worth it. The bent neck setup looks cool, and I think it functions the best. Comes with a wide selection of speaker mounts and fasteners. I was able to fit two of the included fasteners to my Yamaha speakers, but I did have to trim off about 1/2 inches with a hacksaw so they wouldn't bottom out.

OK, but some caveats,

I bought 2 pairs. Assembly with the straight upper tubes is trivial. Of the 4 stands, one stood plumb (accurately vertical). The other 3 leaned noticeably when paired (one leans one way, the other leans another way). After some experimentation, the solution was to use semicircular cardboard shims at the lower tube - to base junction, blackening the cardboard with a magic marker.Summary: 1. The base is cast iron and is cast, not machined where the lower tube sits. There is quite a bit of variation between my 4 stands. It should have been counter-bored (machined) to properly seat the lower tube. Or, the manufacturer should supply shims. 2. Exchanging the straight upper tube with the bent one is an adventure. Tightening the plastic collar and wiggling the upper tube while pulling on it works to remove the plastic male ferrule from the lower tube. 3. The packaging (by the manufacturer, not Amazon) is marginal. There is no styrofoam. The black wrinkle finish metal parts are separated by flimsy eggcrate packaging and every one of the 4 bases had contact blemishes from banging against the other metal components during the trip from China to California. 4. I am satisfied with the utility and appearance of the product, or at least I think so (I have not yet tested my Energy Take speakers). Contrary to another review, I do not have to mount my Energy Take Classic speakers upside down. The stands are reasonably stable and tightly constructed. Amazon replaced one pair of stands which had unacceptable base blemishes. 3 stars for manufacturer packaging, 5 stars for functionality and appearance, 3 stars for changing upper tubes, 2 stars for effort to correct vertical plumb = 3.25 stars.

Finish leaves a little to be desired,

These are more good than bad.Good: You have the option of either a straight or bent post. They are very solidly built stands. The floor spikes make them more stable on a carpeted floor. The wide range of adapters make this a truly universal stand capable of holding a wide variety of speakers. Bad: My stands came with several spots where the black finish had chipped off. I need to put some touch up paint on them now because it just isn't worth the hassle to return them. The speaker wire isn't completely hidden. It goes into the bottom of the post, not the bottom of the base. It isn't a big deal but you still have to run the wire over the base instead of under it. The stands I got were somewhat "preassembled" with the straight post versus the bent post. It was a real pain to undo this and re-assemble with the bent post. Finally, the carpet spikes could be longer for thicker carpets.

Initially I struggled with switching from the vertical setup to the forward lean like a lot of others have expressed. Quite inadvertently I discovered a simple and easy technique for dislodging the vertical setup post (part #02) from the base post (part #01). The vertical post slides easily back and forth within the base post, trombone like. Rather than struggling to separate part #03 from the base post, simply grab the base post with one hand, grab the vertical post with the other hand, and slide the vertical post out of the base post. You have to do this with SOME force, but the 2 poles (and part #03) popped apart rather easily for me.Nonetheless I have to dock it one star for this installation issue.

These stands are very sturdy and look great. They come with different brackets to mount different types of speakers on. I paired them with Klipsch Quintet speakers. They mount beautifully. I highly recommend these stands for your home theater!

These Sanus speaker stands are just what I needed for my surround sound speakers. I wasnt interested in running speaker wires thru walls so these are the next best option. They are good looking as they are functional and go well with just about any decor. Strong and sturdy. Fairly easy to assemble. May take alittle time and patience to thread the speaker wire thru the posts but the rest goes fairly quickly. Several options available depending on size, weight and connection location of your speakers. Can be easily adjusted to preferred height. Assembly instructions can actually be understood. Allows sound to be placed for the best listening position. Great value for speaker stands of this quality. I would recommend to anyone looking for quality speaker stands for their small surround sound speakers. As always, Amazon came thru with easy ordering and prompt delivery. Great buy!

I was looking for a set of speaker stands that:- Do would not break the bank. - Are sturdy enough to hold my JBL speakers. - Do not call attention to themselves. - Can be used with other brands or types of speakers in the future. These Sanus units fit the bill perfectly. They are: - Very heavy duty and well constructed. - Come with both straight and curved (hoover) mounting poles (I used the straight ones). - Discreet. Flat black, wires run thru the pole. Not too big or flashy. - Come with all sorts of mounting brackets. Great product at a great price from Amazon.

Worked ok for my Infintiy Primus P142 Speakers,

I purchased these for a pair of Infinity Primus P142's. I was hoping to use the L bracket with the center screw in the speaker, but it wasn't long enough unless I mounted the sreaker upside down, which i was not crazy about, also if it was long enough, the L bracket blocks the speaker wire from going to the terminals. So I used part # 18, basically it just screws into the back center hole of the speaker, but does not have the extra support of the L Bracket, so all the weight is on the one threded screw hole in the speaker. I think it will be alright though. As far as contruction, looks and durability it's all A's here. Just wish the had some better counting options. I have these in a pretty big room so I went with the straight bar instead of the curved. I figured the curved is used for smaller enviorments when you want to focus the surrounds on a single sitting area.
