Good quality, but be aware of stud placement!
on April 28, 2011
This is a good product -- high quality, very thin, and really sexy looking when it's all set up. You can even mount a much larger television if it's light enough (I've got a 55" LCD, but since it's only 30 lbs, the mount can easily hold it).
That said, I can't give five stars because of one, very annoying problem: the mounting holes don't leave you with a lot of options. You've got three, two-inch holes on either side of the bracket. If your studs are 16 inches apart (which they probably are), you've got three mounting points, leaving you with a total left/right play of about six inches. If you've got a larger television (mine places the brackets at 400mm apart, which is standard), you'll have another 3.5 inches of left/right play to work with. Bottom line: if you're using this mount with a larger television, you'd better hope that your studs aren't more than 9.5 inches off center from your intended mount point. Guess how I know.
Anyway, the point is: would it have killed these guys to put some extra mounting holes in the backplate?
