I am not Ms. Mechanical. I can barely put together those bookcases you get from iKea that have complete illustrated instructions. However, I must admit that this wallmount was very easy to install and use, even for me.The instructions were clear and this went up in a jiffy. My new LCD TV is now installed on a kitchen wall. It swings out to view while I'm cooking, and then swings back flush to the wall, out of the way, when I'm not using the TV. Because this mount also tilts as well as moving side to side, I can tilt the LCD display for varying light conditions so that it is always sharp and clear whether in bright sunlight or shadow. I'm very pleased with this purchase and don't think I would get nearly as much pleasure out of my TV without it.

Great flexibility, tilt mechanism a bit challenged,

We purchased this mount for a Panasonic TC-20LA2 20" flat panel LCD TV. It installed without a hitch and is clearly very well crafted. As it comes in the package it must be installed in a stud. It has two failry massive screws that are several inches long that would not "bite" wallboard and even plywood blocking.
While it is very flexible with the swing arm, rotation and tilt adjustments we are finding the tilt mechanism a bit challenged by the Panasonic's 16 pound weight -- in spite of the 30 pound rated maximum of the bracket. Even when the tilt screw is tightened with a reasonable amount of force, you can cause the TV to drop further if you bump it lightly. It's not clear why this is occurring -- and its not an issue if you handle the TV carefully as you move it about -- but I would be skeptical that you could keep the tilt on a heavier TV if you used this bracket.

I bought this recently and was using to wall mount 17" monitor. It does the job, though I spent 10 min tinkering with lock mechanism. Overall good product for the money.

Had to get this mount for our lcd. Saw it at Best Buy for double the price. We love the fact we have so many options to position our tv now. The only problem I noticed is that the arm prevents our tv from pressing up all the way against the wall. Not that big a deal but it would be nice to have that flush look. I guess you have to give something up due to its versatility. Overall great mount. Make sure you drill into a stud!

Great unit for mounting an LCD TV. About half the price of other heavier units available. It's lighter weight made it easier to install and adjust. No problems with sagging or anything. The only dislike is Hexhead 3" brass screws. Soft metal, hard to find a bit for a drill that is hex. Suggest you buy a couple of heavy philips head wall wood screws to mount to the stud. Other than that its all good.

Holds LCD TV okay. To get it to keep from tilting down I had to tighten with a pair of pliers. My TV is close to the maximum weight specification.

I am very happy about our new and inexpensiv wallmount. I would have liked it to have some kind of lock mechanism so that you could locked in a certain position, but other than that it works great.

Careful if you have Magnavox 20MF605T/17 20",

I bought this mount to fix my Magnavox 20MF605T/17 20" to a concrete wall. The mount was very easy to install.
It is important to note that the Magnavox TV's stand cannot be removed, instead it folds back 90 degrees, and the wall mount's arm attaches to the bottom of the folded-back base, instead of the back of the tv. This implies that the center of gravity of the TV is further away from the mount than it would be if you could attach both things together without the TV's base, because the distance said base adds acts like a lever. So I hooked everything up, and by next morning, my tv had swayed all the way down, because the mechanism that controls this up-down sway could not handle the weight of the tv under the described circumstances (the base of the tv is a lever that acts upon the up-down sway mechanism). No damage was done, but even when tightened with pliers, the mechanism that controls the up-down sway wouldn't hold, and the tv would instantly tilt all the way down. The problem was solved with superglue. The tv allows me to control the up-down sway using its own base. This was 2 weeks a go and the superglue doesn't budge, even when pressed hard.

tilt joint not built for use over 20 pounds,

to echo a few of the comments here, this arm is not really meant to handle "up 30 pounds" as it's specs claim. it's perfectly safe and the nickel bars are solid, but the flaw is the final joint (the tilt joint) that connects to the vesa mount plate. it is woefully inadequate supporting my 27 pound, 26" w/ DVD sharp flatscreen. there was no way i could tighten the thumb knob sufficiently with my hand alone, and the display would just tilt all the way down, facing the floor. i had to go to home depot and pick up a special torque wrench to finally get it to settle, and i'm still not too confident with it.
also, it did not come with the proper sized screws to attach the vesa mount on my display, leading to another purchase for the screws.
