Product Description

Warm saline nasal irrigation is proved to be helpful and highly recommended by medical professionals for various rhinitis or sinusitis (nasal allergy, sinusitis, post nasal drip, URI, cough/asthma, snoring ---). Pulsatile nasal irrigation is more superior than other nasal irrigation by its higher effectiveness and safety. Sanvic pulsatile nasal irrigator is absolutely designed for nasal irrigation, it is not an oral irrigator. Sanvic provides unique variable frequencies -- lower frequency for nasal allergy to restore the faster than normal nasal mucociliary movement down to normal; while higher frequency for sinusitis when nasal mucociliary movement is much slow than normal. Sanvic provides variable frequencies from 450 cps up to 2000 cps, while other pulsatile nasal irrigator utilizing oral irrigator machine provides only fixed frequency of 2000cps. We provide three different color nasal tips in our family model of SH953, so each family member can have his/her own tip to avoid probable cross infection. Because Sanvic is designed and recommended by ENT doctors, we concern more about your health rather than business. You can purchase additional Sanvic tip too, both adult tip or child tip. We invented our innovative child tip since 2001, so even kids aged 4~10 may enjoy the comfort and benefit of Sanvic pulsatile nasal irrigator. Many kids refuse to use the hand squeezing bottle or other hand held tea-pot shaped nasal washer but they love and enjoy the Sanvic child tip. Sanvic is made by medical device GMP plant with high quality control, and passed CE&UL test for medical device safety. If for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply notify us within 10 days of purchase, we will give you a full refund (delivery charges are non-refundable). Please do not return to Amazon directly. Try and enjoy Sanvic pulsatile nasal irrigator to save the health of you and your family!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's working great ... so far!, March 26, 2010

This review is from: Sanvic Pulsatile Nasal / Sinus Irrigator (Family: 3 Adult Tip Included) (Health and Beauty)
I've suffered from sinus infections chronically for years. The East Coast is not kind to those of us with allergies and I've had hay fever since I was a teenager. Unfortunately, as I have aged the frequency of my sinus infections has increased beyond the standard Spring and Fall seasons.

About five years ago, I read about nasal irrigation. So I bought the bottles of saline solution and gave them a try. I experienced real relief. However, those bottles are expensive, so I would stop using them after the condition would clear up. Of course, after a while, the sinus "problems" would return.

A few years back, during a sick day, home in bed, I read about using neti pots and the daily practice of sinus washing as a preventative. So I got one of those. They are o.k. but I always have to tilt my head to the side, then the stuff gets into my upper sinuses and, I guess, my ear, because vertigo would ensue.

Not an encouragement to using the irrigation on a daily basis; which is bad. In order to prevent the chronic condition of sinusitis it's best to keep your sinus passages clean.

Finally, I discovered the Hydro Med sinus irrigation machine. Recommendations stated it did the work of getting the saline solution up where it needs to go without the head tilting I found necessary. It worked great and I used it for about two years.

Unfortunately, despite cleaning it after each use, and pouring vinegar through it on a regular basis, it's motor burned out. So I tried going back to just using a neti pot, but the vertigo came back big time.

That's when I decided to try the machine again. When I came across the Sanvic machine it looked enough like the old Hydro Med to be it's clone, but it offered a place to hold the irrigation tips (I got the "family" model) with a lid to cover them; I liked that feature, plus it came with a two week supply of the saline premeasured packets.

The price on those supplies is good, too; I've shopped around, and the packets works well. I use twice the amount called for (a hyper-tonic solution rather than the standard isotonic ratio) and there's been no burning, no stinging. And my vertigo is starting to go away as the machine does the work and gets the solution up my nose with out my having to tilt my head to the side.

Another feature the Sanvic has, besides a cover lid for the tips, is I like my flow on the gentle side so I just leave it at the first setting, but there are three more strengths for those who like a stronger flow. And they do work, I have tried them. And since it's a button that you push, not turn, I think that is a plus.

So, if I do only get a year's worth of use from this brand, I'll still be satisfied, because what it has saved me in doctor's office visits and co-pays, and pharmacy prescriptions, never mind, the pain and discomfort of sinus infections, is worth more to me than the $117 I paid for it.

Oh. Another benefit is I get my husband to irrigate more frequently now that I have the machine. He didn't like the neti pot so his snoring had gone back to buzz saw strength since the old Hydro Med had died. Since the Sanvic was delivered two weeks ago, my nights are once more quiet. And that's a real benefit, too!

In connection to the snoring, I am not an expert with the condition known as sleep apnea, but if snoring is supposed to be one of it's symptoms (as I keep hearing from a family member) then my husband is reaping a benefit even though he does not have allergies, nor does he ever experience sinus infections.

And, finally, even if you don't have chronic sinus problems like I do, or have a snoring problem, like my husband, it's good to have one of these machines around for when you are cleaning out the garage, attic, anywhere there is dirt, dust, and the possibility of rodent droppings about. We've been cleaning out the garage the past few weeks, and it's a must, after coming in from sweeping, etc., we fire up the irrigator and cleanse our sinuses before sitting down with a cold one.

UPDATE: 28 May 2011, It's been more than a year and the Sanvic irrigator is still working as good as the day it was delivered.

A great product that has made my life so much better.

the best nasal irrigator i have tried by far! mostly use it when i have a cold or my nose doesn't feel right, and it works pretty well. It lasts much longer than the alternatives too, mine is still working after 4 years.

Worked fine while it worked. Maybe this is the one lemon out of a million, but the last nasal irrigator I had was used daily for five years before it broke. This one was more expensive and didn't last two months. Next time I am going to go with one of the ones sold at National Allergy.
