The Sanyo 2700
The 2700 has plenty to back up its good looks, with a wealth of features at a great price. This bar-shaped CDMA messaging phone weighs in at just 3.42 ounces and is about half an inch deep--it'll fit right in your pocket. Hardware features include an integrated full QWERTY keyboard to let you text and IM with lightning speed. A 2.2-inch color LCD screen with 320 x 240 pixel resolution provides large, sharp images. A built-in speakerphone is handy for speaking to multiple parties. Bluetooth compatibility means easy pairing with wireless headsets for hands-free use. And you are free to use the stereo 2.5mm headset jack, of course.

The 2700's built-in phonebook stores up to 600 entries, e-mail and Internet addresses, and a search bar at the top of the contact list lets you scan through your database. It's a breeze to download unique ringers and assign them to numbers in your address book (phone includes 30 built-in ringers and vibration alert to start).

As hinted above, this is an ideal tool for the rampant texter. In addition to the speedy keyboard, the device boasts threaded texting, for easy message organization.

Kids will love the 1.3-megapixel camera, which captures great photos anywhere for sending via MMS or sharing on-screen in the easy-to-use gallery application. Camera features include geo-tagging, night mode, self-timer, contrast controls and more. Plenty to fiddle with.

As for entertainment, the 2700 lets you download and play interactive games, to make the bus/car ride a little more bearable. Data Features
Kajeet plans to begin offering data plans in 2009. The 2700 is ready to go, with Infraware's Polaris 6.01 WAP web browser, and an email client that supports IMAP, POP, SMTP, Outlook (OWA), and Lotus Notes protocols. Handy presets are included for AOL, AIM, Hotmail, Yahoo!, and GMail.

The Sanyo 2700 weighs 3.4 ounces and measures 4.3 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches. Its 840 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 4.8 hours of talk time. It runs on the CDMA 850/CDMA 1900 frequencies for voice.

I bought this phone for my son primarily to be able to reach me when needed and also to text with his friends. The phone quality is fine, he can readily type out messages. Don't expect much from the camera for qualify (1 megapixel). My main issue is service of the Sprint network. If he texts within Sprint, everything is fine. Most of his friends are on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T and many times, he does not receive incoming messages. Outgoing messages are fine. Support service so far from Kajeet is lacking but I am continuting to try and work with them to determine the problem. Most likely, I will retire this phone soon.

Ok, I dont know about the last two reviews? But I had this phone for over 3 years and I pay $50 monthly for unlimited text and phone minutes. You cant beat that. I live on Long island NY and service signal is fine 90% of the time. So maybe these people in the other reviews live in the southern hills somewhere? But the phone has served me well and sure will contine to do so. Oh, and this phone can take a beating like those LG flip phones in the past. I have dropped it several times, gotton it slightly wet. exposed to the sun. And few times the phone was completly dark or went off? I pulled out battery and it started right up again.

Dropped calls, inability to text in most networks outside of Sprint. AND, you pay a fortune for phones. If you cancel Kajeet, you cannot even use the phone with Sprint. Kajeet has "locked" the phone. It looks like a good deal on the surface, but in the end, is a rip off.
We've used even cheaper plans, but this one is the worst. Once you pay for that expensive phone, you re stuff with it as an expensive useless waste if you cancel.
