This television is really nice except for the speaker. When I received it, I thought the speaker was defective so I returned it (Amazon made the return really easy and I thank them for that.), but the speaker on the second television I received wasn't much better. I ended up buying a speaker to plug it into and that fixed the issue, but it was $100 that I wasn't expecting to spend.

The tv only lasted 1 year. needs a new power board, which has a common failure. Sanyo has no parts department so it can not be fixed.

So I bite the bullet and purchased this TV though I noted two bad ratings. I received one day earlier than expected in brown "remanufactured" labeled Sanyo box with manual, 90 days warranty from Sam's Club (yes, you are reading right) and a remote control without batteries. It is a bit heavy for me as avg. built woman but I managed to handle myself to set it up with a PC, media player, and TV through cable without a box in a very short time. I used only HDMI for both PC and media player so I can't comment for other inputs. This TV has several inputs. I'll play Wii later and update how the quality comes out.

For both PC and media player, I am well satisfied with quality. I tried different picture settings and finally used "user" to adjust the color. "Vivid" is too red for my taste. For sound, I chose "dynamic" and it was great. I used it in the small office (bed room size in the house) so 25 level of sound is pretty good enough of The Bourne Legacy movie I recently watched.

This TV came with 30 days tech support by Amazon. The first TV I received went out the power 3 times while watching Three Horsemen movie (creepy movie) so I called the Amazon tech support and the guy resent another TV. The second TV is fine, so far, for 3 days now. I will purchase extended warranty from Square Trade via Amazon as I also noticed that similar models have power issues. My house has 3 Panasonic TVs and one Sony TV. 3 of them are about 3 years old and I've never purchased extended warranty before. All of them are exceeding expectations.

I paid $251.51 and this Sanyo TV and is far better than Sceptre 40" Class LCD 1080p 60Hz HDTV, X405BV-FHD3 that I purchased from Walmart on Black Friday with $249.98 plus tax. I returned that Sceptre as it has poor picture & color.

The tv was delivered promptly in a snow storm. Set up the tv, but the sound is so poor I will probably have to spend more $$ to buy a sound bar

The set is "refurbished" I suspect it was sent back because of speaker issues, because everything else is Tip/Top, the speakers still SUCK. When I justified choosing this "refurbished" set over others, I suspected that it would be speaker problems, as I was lead to belive these larger flat screens do have speaker issues, but for the price ($250.00) it was a good deal and I was able to remedy the speaker problem with a soundbar (Samsung HW-E350) also purchased from "Amazon" (see my review) for a super deal.

It's not smart, but it's a smart buy. @ $300.00 this tv does everything it should, displaying brilliant picture in 1080p. With 3 hdmi ports, pc, 2av, this tv has enough inputs to be voltron. While it lacks smart apps, it's menu system is easily navigable to fine tune your viewing experience. This is the gift tv, the tv for the college student, or the budget minded consumers tv. It's no Sony or LG, but will bring you years of enjoyment, at a fraction of the price. I didn't like the remote, the buttons were a bit confusing, and I'm 29, so that says a bit. No other complaints so far.
