5.0 out of 5 stars Best Rice Cooker
It's been a month since I bought the rice cooker. The rice cooker has been doing great. My family cook rice every day and have used different rice cookers for over three decades. Sanyo ECJ-JG10W is the best we ever used. When I received the rice cooker from Amazon, I got a chance to test it. Few months ago I bought 50 pounds of rice at C****o as it's 60% off regular...

I bought this product in early Feburary and used for a couple of times. Then it just stopped working. Nothing worked except for clock. I called the customer service and was told to send a fax of the receipt, which I did, but never heard from them again. The product is not worth your time and money.

It's been a month since I bought the rice cooker. The rice cooker has been doing great. My family cook rice every day and have used different rice cookers for over three decades. Sanyo ECJ-JG10W is the best we ever used. When I received the rice cooker from Amazon, I got a chance to test it. Few months ago I bought 50 pounds of rice at C****o as it's 60% off regular price. Well, you get what you pay for. The rice got no taste or smell at all and we can tell that it's been sitting in the warehouse for a long long time. After few tries we gave up on it. As I got the new rice cooker, I used it to cook that old rice to see how good the rice cooker would be. It's very easy to use. Push the "start" button, wait for 40 minutes and the rice is ready. I was amazed by the magic it did. The rice was incredibly delicious. It's as delicious as the regular Japanese rice. I tried different white rice on it and the rice cooker upgraded them all! It's a little bit pricy but it's worth it. Now I am spoiled by my rice cooker so that I always complain the restaurants don't serve good rice when I eat out:D

5.0 out of 5 stars This appliance rocks!, December 7, 2011

I have used the rice cooker now for several months and this is one appliance that has a permanent spot on my counter top. The rice cooked in here is far superior to any other cooker or cooking method I have used. Working as a sous chef in my younger years and as the primary home cooker I have cooked a lot of rice! It is easy to program, easy to use, easy to clean, and versatile. I bought it originally as just a rice cooker...but now days it is my primary steamer and egg cooker as well. I never miss on a perfectly boiled egg now, soft, medium, or hard, it is what I want every time from 1 to 12 at a time, 9 minutes, start to finish - set and forget. Steaming veggies - 7 to 8 minutes depending on which veggie - set and forget...no need to boil water, then monitor, poke and prod until its right, with this it is right every time. Back to the rice...I usually use basmati wild long rice that I buy 50lbs at a time. I use the rice bowl to clean and set the proper water level with the internal measurements, set 20 minute soak time and then let it determine the correct cook time, around 40 min...and its perfect each time! Set and forget, I set the rice cooking right when I get home and start the meal a couple of hours later, the warmer keeps the rice perfect for several hours (manual says more than a day but I never tried that.) The warmer mode does not dry the rice out like other cookers...being sealed, the moisture stays set, not mushy or hard. I find myself using this 4-5 times a week, only thing I use more is my Vitamix. I just recently started using it for groats early in the morning. Groats take too long to make usually (2 hrs) so we didn't use them even though they are much healthier than oat meal. Now I set it the night before, it starts at 4am and at 6, we add real maple syrup or a dash of vanilla and stevia, along with cinnamon and I have a hot breakfast for everyone with less than 10 minutes of effort! (use the porridge settings) Highly Recommended!

I bought this rice cooker as my introductory gadget to the world of good rice. Right afterwards I purchased a speciallized cookbook with many recipes to do on a rice cooker and found out there were many of them that needed a larger size bowl and a steamer. I had to replace my Zojirushi for a Sanyo with induction heating and a lot more options to control the rice texture and many things I could not do. Still, the Zojirushi it is a great quality product that produces perfect rice every time.
