Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The Fisher FVH-T619 hi-fi stereo VCR contains a bundle of extras at a practical price. The most intriguing feature is the much-appreciated Ad JUMP, which allows you to bypass commercials on your taped programs. Simply push the Ad JUMP button on your remote control when a commercial starts. The VCR will automatically skip through to the end of a commercial break at a faster speed and resume normal playback at the point where the program restarts. Once you use this feature, you'll wonder how you survived so long without it.

Another unique feature is the unit's stylish "moonlight" buttons. A nice touch for late-night video viewing, the buttons glow a fluorescent green as you perform a function, such as fast-forward or reverse.

Parents will be happy to know that the FVH-T619 contains a child-lock feature, which will blank out the picture and sound of both taped and broadcast programming viewed through the VCR tuner.

The multitude of unique extras on the FVH-T619 make it an excellent pick over similar-priced VCR models.

Pros:

  • Ad JUMP feature to block unwanted commercials
  • Parental lock
  • Audio-video input on front
  • Stylish design
  • Self-setting clock

4.0 out of 5 stars good deal, April 28, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Fisher FVH-T619 Hi-Fi VCR (Electronics)
I purchased this VCR about 2 months ago and I have not had any problems. The only drawbacks would be 1) noisy rewind and 2) the lack of a mute button on the universal remote

The VCR came with a universal remote, but for some reason this remote lacks a mute button.

The on screen programming is very easy. This VCR has auto setup.

It will tell you the channel and or program when you are tuning channels through it, which is nice. For Example, when you change channels using the VCR as a tuner it will say "Frasier" at the top of the screen so you know what is on.

It will also make this mark on your videotapes of programs you record. Then when you go back to play the tape it will tell you what programs have been recorded and when they were recorded. I have only had this VCR a short time, so I haven't recorded many programs. But this will be a great feature to keep the videotapes straight.

It's a great price. I would recommend.

this poor choice will haunt me until i can stomach buying a new VCR. the user interface, remote or otherwise, is terrible. compared to my older SOny, i've made a horrible choice. very hard to program simple recordings. won't even default to today's date, time, and channel. sad to say you get what you pay for.
