I purchased this VCR about 2 months ago and I have not had any problems. The only drawbacks would be 1) noisy rewind and 2) the lack of a mute button on the universal remote
The VCR came with a universal remote, but for some reason this remote lacks a mute button.
The on screen programming is very easy. This VCR has auto setup.
It will tell you the channel and or program when you are tuning channels through it, which is nice. For Example, when you change channels using the VCR as a tuner it will say "Frasier" at the top of the screen so you know what is on.
It will also make this mark on your videotapes of programs you record. Then when you go back to play the tape it will tell you what programs have been recorded and when they were recorded. I have only had this VCR a short time, so I haven't recorded many programs. But this will be a great feature to keep the videotapes straight.
It's a great price. I would recommend.

Fisher falls flat, February 21, 2000

this poor choice will haunt me until i can stomach buying a new VCR. the user interface, remote or otherwise, is terrible. compared to my older SOny, i've made a horrible choice. very hard to program simple recordings. won't even default to today's date, time, and channel. sad to say you get what you pay for.
