Sanyo NV-E7000 Portable GPS and Mobile DVD Entertainment System

I just read the manual which very clearly says that this system cannot play any DVD+R ,DVD-R DVR+RW or any DVD that you have burn't using your DVD Burner.
It can only play JPEG only from a CD-R. So basiclly a crippled player.

The Navigation software is 1.0 version which is way way old version. The company Zenrin sell the V2.2 version with latest maps which you have to buy for $200 from them. Sanyo Never will give you this Updated maps for free!!

A prior reviewer indicated the map that comes with this is older, but I guarantee you that it will get you to 99.9% of the places you need to go if you travel quite a bit. I've played DVDs while on trips, and it works even in Canada! As fast as streets are being built, no navigation system will ever be 100%. This one can move from car-to-car, has a second function (DVDs) and is definitely worth this price. We paid the original price over a year ago and have gotten our money's worth. I would definitely recommend it!

My family spends a lot of time in our RV. Not only do I use it to get to the campground, but (and this is the best part!) I give it to my kids to watch DVDs!!!! I was going to buy both a portable DVD player and a navigation system, but this one does it both. My older son even figured out how to connect it to his Playsation!

OK, now I am confused. There have been both pro and cons for this product and completely opposite. I love the price but if the negatives are so intence, then may be I should wait. Dan, I'm with you, I would someone that has troubles with this product to email me and explain their discontent.
