5.0 out of 5 stars Eneloops are my favorites - but look out for NEW ONES!
Eneloop batteries are my favorite AA and AAA rechargeable batteries, but there are newer ones out now!

The newer Eneloops:

* Have 1500 charge cycles (instead of 1000)
* Retain 85% capacity after one year, 80% after two, and 75% capacity after three years
* Are better in cold temperatures... now rated for down to -20°C instead of...

2.0 out of 5 stars These are the older model
There needs to be more description for this product as these are the older model batteries as per the description line indicating that they can be recharged up to 1000 times. The new model can be recharged up to 1500 times.

I bought these for my headlight. I use it to run at night and going thru disposible AAA batteries seemed like a waste. So far these produce a light that is just as bright and seem to last for a while.

I have used this brand of battery for the past couple of years. They don't have as much power as other rechargables I've used but they really do hold their charge much longer. I use them mostly in my digital camera on vacations. They easily last for 200-300 photos, many with the flash.

I have 100% totally converted all my rechargeable battery needs to Eneloop batteries, save for my wife's Pentax *st DS DSLR camera, which still does remarkably well on normal NiMH batteries that I have several good packs of, rated up to 2800mAh, and we still use those. But the rest of our fleet of rechargeable devices? They are on Eneloops pure, plain and simple...and why did I do this deed!?

**800+mAh Charge taken per battery, minimum, some take up to 1000mAh(!)

**AAA batteries last much, much longer, by a factor of 4X more more, than standard AAA rechargeables

**Use Eneloop (slow), Fast Charger (Energizer), or other (La Crosse Technology BC-70) chargers with equal success

**Long lasting charges (up to 3 years) that are effective out of the box, store extremely well

**No Memory Effect whatsoever, even after dozens and dozens of charges

**Durable construction of the batteries themselves, no 'tail ends' problems, cases are strong

**Able to work in difficult appliances (electric razors, hobby controllers for R/C cars, planes etc)

**Long-lived batteries, able to survive SEVERE USAGE and come back for more, no problems at all (!)

The batteries are made in Japan still, and they are reputed to be charged by "solar power" instead of just normal generator current, so that's an ecological thing to think about when buying these great performing batteries today, also. The quality of the Japanese cells is supreme, and without a doubt the finest AAA batteries that $$$ can buy of the rechargeable sort, so you just cannot go wrong with these superior AAA batteries for virtually any use you can think of.

I am an avid (Professional level) R/C hobbyist, and control of my racing cars, trucks and planes is No.1 in my book, ie the cells have to last a long, long time for a day at the track, or an evening's racing at our night venues, so I demand a lot from my Eneloop 4-AAA packs, of which I use two in my No.1 R/C Controller for my race cars and planes (8 cells at a time).

I only have this to say about them after using them all summer through a hectic racing schedule throughout Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona, not to mention going back East to the Nationals to boot: THESE BATTERIES ROCK! There were times that I could not believe the batteries were still good and functioning 100% efficiently during crazy racing days, where I was up on the podium controlling my race cars and trucks for literally hours at a time during enduro racing, and the batteries never failed once! IMPRESSIVE!

I use one of them for a mundane purpose also, but important, still, and that is in my new battery powered Gillette Razor, you know the "new kind" that look like a traditional razor but they have a powered motor inside of the head and neck which sort of vibrates at a high resonance and assists in cutting off your beard easily? And all I can say about that is WOW! I can go more than a month on a single charge to my single AAA battery that powers that razor without having to charge it again, and I only charge it after the month is up because I consider it prudent to do so...I could probably go even longer than 30 days of shaving with the single cell Eneloop AAA 800mAh charge battery.

We use one of the very nice, accurate and easy on batteries "new chargers" for our AAA's and AA's both, which is called a La Crosse BC-70 Charger, and that sucker will tell you the actual mAh of each cell as it is being charged, and how much charge an individual battery takes, sort of like what my very sophisticated battery chargers for my Li-Ion Batteries for my race cars use, and I can report that I have one set of the Eneloops that came in a 4-pack, that is two separate batteries that I use as a pair, and these two take more than a 950-mAh charge! Can you beat that?

Normally I just don't have the time to take using the La Crosse charger and I will use my ready-to-go Energizer Fast Charger, which will charge an AAA battery in about 10 minutes, and it does an AA battery in about 15 minutes, and I can report that these Eneloops will survive such rapid charging 100% aok fine also, which surprised me at first because I thought that the Eneloops would be cautioning us against using so-called "Fast Chargers" but they do not...so we use the fast charge a LOT with these batteries and they have so far survived 100%.

We have not had a single failure out of all the Eneloops that we purchased here at Amazon.com, and I am using 16 of them for my R/C hobby in the cars for the receiver packs, and for my controller for the Futaba PCM Radio functions I need, and I have put some hard, hard miles on these batteries over the past 9 months or so, and not one has failed in use, not a one! That is amazing!

That's the story with my AAA Eneloop batteries, as you could not get me to change them out for another, cheaper or even a more expensive, better brand, if such a thing exists, and I consider myself a very hard user of AA and AAA batteries, with my hobbies and all the other severe uses we put these things through. They come through time and time again without any issues whatsoever, no matter what we are doing with the batteries, no matter how hard or severe the usage is, these last and last and last!

I give the Eneloop AAA 4-pack my Wavey Davey 5 Star Gold Rating For Excellence in use, and performance, and quality that goes way beyond normal battery science and construction. The nice people at Sanyo have got me for a lifetime customer nowadays, and I could not be happier with the AAA batteries that I've purchased through Amazon.com Marketplace, as the resellers have been great to work with. They deliver the merchandise on time or ahead of schedule; the pricing is fair; the packaging has been great with all the different merchants I've used for the Eneloop purchases; in short, I have no complaints whatsoever with my Eneloop experiences whether it's the buying of them, or their performance in the field, with my extreme uses considered.

Get yourselves some of the Eneloops in this 4-pack to save some $$$'s and conserve the environment, that's what Wavey Davey has to say about the Eneloop batteries! These are quite simply the best, and you don't have to look any farther than to Amazon.com Marketplace to find great values, and great merchants to work with when you need to purchase Eneloop batteries of any variety.

These batteries do indeed keep their charge for months and months. Highly recommended. Another nice thing: Out of 24 eneloop AA batteries I have purchased, they all work. There are no defective batteries in the bunch. So for reliability and for a quality product, I highly recommend Eneloops as the ones that are to be trusted. Especially important when you are dependent on a battery to work when it is needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable rechargeables, January 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sanyo Eneloop AAA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries 4 Pack [Hassle Free Packaging] (Electronics)
These batteries are seriously a replacement to the copper tops. They are being used everywhere in my home and they do last a while. In comparison, I would say that these batteries do outlast the conventional batteries.

I charge up the group and they will sit for about 2 months before I need to use a replacement. So now I'll just keep two or four charged up for an emergency and fully charge up the ones I need on a requirement basis. Best to install them fully charged. Oh, let them sit in your charger for about 2 hours after the charger indicates fully charged or unplug and replug the charger to ensure they're fully charged.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best rechargeables I've ever used., July 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sanyo Eneloop AAA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries 4 Pack [Hassle Free Packaging] (Electronics)
I bought these along with a two pack/travel charger unit for my digital camera. Other users have given extensive time/testing to see how well they hold up. In fact, it was the outstanding reviews these got on Amazon that convinced me to buy some for myself. I'll confine myself, then, to my own impressions.

The batteries worked right out of the package, and got me through 5-6 4GB memory cards, including a full hour of continuous video on my Canon PowerShot 110X before needing to be swapped out for a fresh pair. Two short hours in the charger and they were ready to go again. So far I've used these in digital cameras, small flashlights and a few power hungry toys. At this (admittedly early) stage, they have certainly lived up to their reputation, and I have no trouble believing they'll take more over the 1,000 cycle line down the road.

These AAA's are measuring up quite well. They are being used in a MP3 player that usually eats up regular batteries after 3 hours. These last at least 7. I havent let them go completly drained so they may last a little longer than that. Overall they have beaten the duracell accu's I have used in the past.
