Bought this to replace a very old Sanyo to get more efficiency and cheaper operation. This is a wonderful small refrigerator with plenty of room inside plus on the back of the door.

I've found that I can run it on the lowest setting and everything is plenty cool enough. In addition, it is so quiet compared to my old one. My wife and I are very happy with this Sanyo.

The older Sanyo ran well for over 25 years with never a problem.

I purchased this to have a beverage frig in the living room. The 7 can dipenser in the door is useful. After removing a shelf you can place 12 12oz bottles on the bottom and 6 12oz cans behind them on a ledge (though difficult to reach). Another 10 or so cans on the top shelf (not enough room for bottles). Room for a 2 liter bottle in the door and you can squeez in perhaps 3 or 4 more cans in the door. There is a small freezer compartment in which ice can be kept, not useful for me (hence 4 stars).

Taking the advice of other members, I ordered "one day shipping". The packaging IS FLIMSY, but my unit arrived OK. Works well. As long as it arrives intact (and who really knows how often it does) it works, its reasonably attractive, its quiet (for an office environment or, if you buy it for a dorm, it certainly won't wake you when it goes on. The unit is NOT FLIMSY, and, assuming it isn't damaged during shipping, should serve an office user or a dorm room user quite well. Not quite the best buy I've made on Amazon, but still a very satisfactory one.

sanyo products are generally pretty good but i was concerned by the other reviews that talked about bad packing. feeling lucky, i ordered anyway. the packing is fairly skimpy but mine was unscathed. no problems. really. boy, this is much nicer than the photos suggest and it keeps things nice and cool. i haven't had freezing problems because i keep at midpoint. you can put a lot of stuff in this little guy! i use it in my office and love it. of course, there was a small sang: the freezer door needed to be placed back in the groove. it was hanging loose, though taped. luckily it worked out fine.

We chose the 2.5 cubic foot size when we decided to renovate our apartment and live in the rear bedroom and we were right on the money. It's amazing how much you can actually fit in this compact fridge! Excellent cooling with an ice maker! Many pluses. Only minus is that freezer section extends beyond the compartment so anything around it freezes as well. Overall, excellent value!

The fridge seems to cool really well, and is built solid. I put in milk and had the cooling setting near max and it froze my milk. So I've now turned down the cool setting. This proves it can really cool well. Much better than those low end 'hot-cool' mini fridges.

The only problem is the packaging. It's not Amazon's fault - it's Sanyo's fault. The packing is laughable. There's a couple of corner styrofoam pieces of less than 1/2 inch thick trying to protect this fridge. It isn't going to work!

Mine came damaged like everyone else's, but it is still usable.

After reading some of the previous reviews about shipping damage I almost didn't order it. However, it arrived in great shape and the packing material was excellent. Someone must have gotten Sanyo's attention on the quality of their packing material.

Purchased for my office area - our 'shared office refrigerator' is always a science project. This baby had SPACE. Several folks on my team use it - and there is still plenty of room to spare. Freezer space is roomy enough for a few frozen lunch meals. Had it shipped directly to my office. Shipping container was in great shape - unloaded it in 5 minutes and had it plugged in. It's been working since beginning of September '06 without missing a chilly beat. Well worth the money!

I read reviews about other compact refrigerators arriving damaged because of poor packaging through amazon, and I thought I wouldn't mind a couple of dents in it as long as it functioned correctly. I got this for my dorm room and it would have been the perfect compact fridge... if it worked. When the package arrived, it was ripped up in several places and there were stains along one side. I opened it and found 4 slim pieces of styrofoam supporting it. It turns out the stains were from leakage through the cooler because it got all over my floor. Now I have a huge mess to clean too. I'm sure I would have loved it if it worked because it could fit a lot, and would have been perfect for several quarts of milk and a waterfilter along with a few bottles and cans.

I was concerned about shipping after reading the reviews on this fridge but went ahead and ordered it with standard shipping to save $$$. It was delivered (by UPS) in fine shape; the box and the fridge were perfect, no damage. The fridge itself works great and it is very roomy for a small fridge.
