Product Description

New, improved eneloop kit in blue color, AAA 12 pack - Pre Charged, Ready to use rechargeable battery. Since its launch in November 2005 eneloop has become well-known around the world as it has revolutionized the consumer-use rechargeable battery segment with its unique features: * rechargeable approximately 1,500 times * coming pre-charged, making it usable immediately after purchase * its unique design departing from the look of traditional batteries What is the difference between the "old" and the "new" improved eneloop? An extra of 500 charging cycles - instead of being rechargeable 1000 times, the new eneloop is even rechargeable up to 1500 times. Improved self-discharge. Even though the self discharge of the old eneloop was already very impressive, you can store the new eneloop for 3 years and still it will retain 75% of its capacity. You need a battery, which is reliable even when having cold temperatures Before eneloop was suitable for temperatures as low as -10°C - now even until -20°C. The new eneloop is even more environment-friendly as it is pre-charged with solar energy in Japan.

Eneloop batteries are awesome. These are a fine example of their ilk.

However. Pop Quiz:

If I told you that two battery storage cases are included with your purchase of 12 AAA batteries, how many would you expect each one to hold?

a) 6
b) 4
c) The cases are for AA batteries and will hold 5 AAA each in a somewhat wonky (i.e. rattle-y) way.

If you answered c), you'll love this set!

Otherwise, you will, like me, be a bit confused, but figure you didn't pay anything extra for the cases, so even if they make no sense, it's fine.

This package of Eneloop batteries has worked very well for me. They cycle at 800mAH and have the slow drain (self-discharge) and long life as expected for Eneloop batteries. The 1st gen batteries are amazing, as improved 2nd gen batteries I have high hopes for these. The plastic battery cases are a nice touch; they snap closed securely and keep my batteries organized in my battery drawer. They are really nice and I wish I had more!

Here's the real benefit for these batteries. The slow self-discharge and the impressive number of cycles they work through make them a winning combination. I tried using higher rated NiMH batteries in my camera flashes for weddings only to find they really didn't last. The Eneloops have always come through for me and I know that even if I grab a flash I haven't charged in a few months, it'll work for me. The higher self-discharge rate of regular NiMH batteries was a real problem for me.

Here's the amazing real story of just how well these babies last! I moved a couple of years ago and in the process my rechargeable batteries ended up all mixed together. I had batteries that were 10 years old in the mix so I figured I should cycle them all, put them in sets and get rid of (recycle) those which didn't manage to cycle at least 80% of original capacity. I started with about 80 batteries and as I went through and tested them over a few weeks (it takes time to properly cycle each set) I found one very surprising result. ALL of my Eneloop batteries were still good, even the 5+ year old batteries that hadn't been used in a couple years. I ended up recycling nearly every other brand. The Sanyo Cadnica Nicads I have which are over 15 years old would still work too, but only about half at that age.

I was comparing rechargeable batteries and these seemed just as good as the rest, but the price point was better, and claim to last 1,500 charges. I don't know if any battery will last that long, but I can say that they charge to about 1.51/1.52v according to my La Crosse BCT1000 and have performed very well so far.

Anyone needing rechargable batteries shoud purchase these. The wife had problems with her digital camera needing the batteries charged before each use. These have held a charge at least ten times as long and still don't need recharged. Has to be one of the most amazing products on the market.

So far these batteries have met my expectations. I haven't had these more than a couple of months, but so far they hold a good charge and last longer then regular rechargeable batteries. They are also performing better then my other Hybrid batteries. I love the fact that they can be charged, thrown in a case, and are still fully charged weeks or months later and ready for use. They can even be used in remote controls. Regular rechargeable batteries loose their charge from just sitting in a very short time and can't be used for remotes or stored in a charged state. These have been great for my Turtle Beach X41 headsets and both of my Logitech Harmony remote controls (battery hogs). I'm certain that these batteries have already paid for themselves vs using regular alkaline batteries. I will follow up with longevity and durability in due time. For now I would definitely recommend them to family or friends needing a viable solution to anything that eats a lot of batteries.

Best battery Ive ever owned, period.Had these AAA batteries for 2 years now and have yet to kill one,in fact they all charge to rated specs on the high end.So I bought more as my needs have expanded. They may look expensive but are dirt cheap when they last for years.
Nothing beats eneloops IMO.

Batteries work ok, but they are the lower capacity 750mAH AAA batteries rather than the high capacity 1000mAH AAA batteries. Product descriptions for rechargeable batteries should include the capacity.
