I had a CradlePoint router that had been used seasonally - had about eight months on it when it died. Their answer was something to the effect of: "too bad so sad - twelve months and we don't know you." Needed a wireless router for business; bought another CradlePoint locally. It was DOA. Bought this from Amazon - two day shipment - a third of the price of the CradlePoint junk. Hooked it up and in less than three minutes was back on the wireless internet. This is a slick looking product, and obviously well designed. Only shortcoming is the transformer has only a two foot lead - I am surprised when a company makes as good a product as this that this even happened. Adios CradlePoint!!!
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS - AFTER HAVING HAD IT FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, I MUST ADD THAT IT IS SLOW. AND I HAVE FOUND NO WAY TO CHANGE THIS. I THINK CRADLEPOINTS ARE FASTER; BUT, AS I SAID EARLIER - THEY HAVE A ROTTEN ATTITUDE. THE UNIT IS BETTER LOOKING THAN CRADLEPOINT, BUT LACKS THE SPEED.

I had high hopes for this router based on the description and all of it's seemingly cool features. Unfortunately I had a poor real-world experience.

I was hoping to replace an aging AirPort Extreme. I live in a two-story home with a basement and have a dead spot in my second floor bedroom, so I was excited to get something with a bigger radio.

Setup was relatively easy (it detected my cable modem/dynamic IP setup and configured itself) and had a decent signal. Throughput was a different story. I couldn't get more than 20K speeds out of it. I reset it, I fiddled with it, I rebooted the modem, all with the same results. Plugged the Airport back in and was back to my 30Mbps speeds.

Maybe I got a dud.

One other complaint: the power cable is two feet from plug to tip. Keep this in mind when you're thinking about placement.

I am actually quite impressed with this wireless router. My roommate and I needed a wireless router to share our Internet connection. This device provides two USB ports that allow you to hook up external hard drives, webcams, speakers, and other USB devices to create a powerful Wi-Fi network. The smart Wi-Fi features made it easy for me to transfer files from my laptop to my smartphone. I was able to browse my smartphone and external hard drive with my laptop using the smart Wi-Fi feature with the free "Pdapp" application. Anyone connected to the wireless network has the option to upload and download files on multiple devices. I wanted to get rid of my speaker wires lying on the floor, and this device gives me the option to use my new USB speakers.

After setting up this router, it automatically created a dynamic IP address, making the setup process easy. Our apartment is big, which is specifically why I wanted this wireless router. The router has three huge antennas for broadcasting a wireless network. We are currently using a Comcast Internet service subscription and this device works perfectly with our service. My roommate had the chance to play Xbox Live with this router and had no problems whatsoever. On the back of this wireless router are 5 Ethernet ports, one of which is for a direct connection to our Comcast modem. Comcast actually charges a fee to use their wireless option on the modem. We avoid that fee by using the Sapido GR297n.

This wireless router is not necessarily a portable router because of its size. However, I was surprised to find the smart Wi-Fi feature useful for accessing an external hard drive over a wireless network. I hooked up my Western Digital 500 GB external hard drive through one of the 2 USB ports and accessed files over the wireless network.
