I'm a gamer and I must say that this card is absolutely amazing. I was choosing either this card or the NVIDIA GTX285. I waited for the 4890 to come out to see what specs that it has. At the time of release, the 4890 was $100 less than the 285 and it was the new kid on the block. I have a habbit for getting the newest products. This time, I wait for reviews before buying the new product, lol. With GDDR5, 901mhz GPU clock, 1000mhz memory clock, Directx 10.1, and a price of $225; for the new kid on the block, this is a terrific card. A few years ago, my x1900xtx was $400. I'm not an ATI fanboy, nor do I work for ATI or Sapphire. I weighed both NVIdia and ATI and decided to buy not only this one, but the overclocked edition which comes overclocked at 901mhz and 1001mhz.

This video card was already at 901mhz. I have it in the Cooler Master HAF932 full tower case and I must say it's somewhat quiet. But this is due to the fan speed set on the Catalyst Control Center at 50% and the temperature of the card is about 53 degrees celcius. The vents on the back of the video card are long and wide. The hot air flows right out. This is good because it doesn't hover in my case. Feeling the air around my video card and it's very cool. This might have something to do with my 4 fans running :)

Out of the box, this card is huge and heavy! When I opened the box (it was a pretty blue box by Sapphire), I grabbed the card with one hand and was shocked at how heavy it was. In my "old" system, I have a x1900xtx (by Sapphire) and it's a lightweight compared to this new one. This card also completely englufs my PCIe x1 slot on my EVGA x58 A1 board. If you are going with a sound card that uses a PCIe slot, be warned and be careful if you also plan on going crossfire. You might not have any real estate left on the motherboard. Make sure you consider all your options. For instance: Are you going to crossfire (2 video cards)? Are you adding a sound card? PCIe? PCI? Does your mobo have enough PCIe slots to accomodate this? My 2 x16 PCIe slots sandwich the PCIe x1 slot but luckily all the way at the bottom, there is a PCIe x4 slot and that's where my Auzentech Forte PCIe sound card sits. By the way, the Forte is a great sound card, easy setup, no bloated software that you have to install, and the sound from both music and games is amazing! No crackling also!

I am running this card with Vista 64bit Home Premium. The driver is stable and I've had not issues what-so-ever. With my whole system, Vista gives it a 5.9 and if you combine both my i7 processor and the 4890, Flight Simulator X never looked so fantastic. All graphic slights are at Ultra High (maxed) and all traffic sliders including boat and car traffic are at max. I pushed the framerate to 55fps and everything is running smoothly as I am in awe over how beautiful it looks. I'm running this also on a LG 24" LCD monitor showing a brilliant picture (this is a gorgeous monitor). When the fan is on, yes it is noticeable; but not loud at all. The fans on my HAF 932 case are louder. With all the fans running and ever at high speed, I'm still able to hear the TV in the other room.

Sapphire has great customer and technical service, when I had a issue with my x1900xtx card (my wife uses the computer with the x1900xtx card). They are quick to respond.

In my box, it came with the Crossfire bridge, Catalyst installation and driver disc, PCIe power plug extension, PowerDVD, the instruction manual, and 3D Mark Vantage. I love this video card and it's an excellent gamer card. I highly recommend it!

Worth every dollar you pay for it. Amazing power for that price range. Only bad thing: too big. You need a big and roomy tower...

I have no problems whatsoever in running any game on its highest detail
also looking at the price its a great bargain compared to its competitor nvidia 275GTX of the same price
even the ATI is still cheaper and deliver higher performance
