I paired this GPU with 4gb of 1600mhz memory and a core i-5 750 and no doubt this thing chews up everything i throw at it pretty respectively. i can run far cry 2 maxed out with full AA/AF at 1680 x 1050 (thats the resolution of my monitor), and it runs shy over 40fps, so cranking the AA down really puts up some nice numbers for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of BSOD/GSOD
Bought mine through new egg. Seem to work fine and even ran great for a while under Windows 7 64bit. Unfortunately it was too late when I realized I had an issue. The black and grey screens of death requireing hard-reboots started happening when I started actually putting stress on the card with Mass Effect 2. It only got worse when I got a new 23" monitor (upgraded...

I paired this GPU with 4gb of 1600mhz memory and a core i-5 750 and no doubt this thing chews up everything i throw at it pretty respectively. i can run far cry 2 maxed out with full AA/AF at 1680 x 1050 (thats the resolution of my monitor), and it runs shy over 40fps, so cranking the AA down really puts up some nice numbers for me.

with the cpu stock, i i scored ~ 10K in 3dmark vantage at 1280 x 1024, and 15K in 3dmark06 at 1280 x 1024.

i ran dirt 2 to check out the dx 11 features and the game runs extremely smooth and the detail is amazing. the Unigine bench really pulls the card to it's knees when maxed out, but then again it's a bench, however, the Uningine bench looks incredible fully maxed out, and runs an average of 24 fps for the benchmark.

for a mid-range build i highly recommend this gpu. if you decide to run two in crossfire i've heard that they can perform in some instances as good as a 5870, and in particular cases better than a 5870. these things scale extremely well, have low power requirements, excellent performance, and are dx 11 capable. do not hesitate, do not purchase a 260gtx or a 4870/4890 over this card. you will be disappointed.

This card came with a coupon to download "dirt 2" on Steam, which I didn't expect. Fun game, by the way. Don't really know how to review something like this. It works just fine and seems like a good value. The fan doesn't make any moise that I could hear, and the directions were good. The HDMI does get sound from somewhere even though I did not connect it to my sound card with a "jumper cable." There doesn't look like there is any place to plug one in, anyway. Video quality is good.

I bought this card about 3 weeks ago. It replaced the hd3600 in my Dell studio xps 435. this card has great performance and very low power draw. The dell studio xps has only a 350 watt power supply and i have had no problems so far. i have played crysis maxed out in 1080x1920 with no problems. I usually use the dvi port, but i tried the HDMI port plugged directly to my tv. The HDMI port transmits video and sound.

It only got worse when I got a new 23" monitor (upgraded from a 19") and started running a higher resolution.

Long story, short-- it is now RMA'd with Sapphire. If you get a good one, you will love it. It runs cool and has nearly the power of a GeForce 260. But be warned there are some faulty cards out there. If my replacement doesn't work properly I will be buying a Evga GeForce 400 series!

1.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful card has serious problems, April 16, 2010

I purchased this card in tandem with a new AMD X4 955 BE CPU and MSI 890GXM motherboard. Unfortunately, the card has serious issues with stability; at least under Windows 7 64-bit Professional.

A quick search on Google will confirm that many people are having problems. I called ATI/AMD and the tech support person told me they're aware that the card has problems (fast lines over the screen, system freezes and Windows 7 restarts the driver, and in 3-D games spontaneous reboots) and that they're trying to fix the issues with a new driver. The tech support person recommended not using this card, unless I needed multiple displays (which I don't) and instead recommended going to a Radeon 4850, which I am doing.

As for the other reviews, I can only think they have a different platform than mine. One person online did state he had the same problems under Linux...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great card for the money, February 18, 2010

Wow this card is great. I had a gtx260 and let me just say doesn't even match this card. The power requirements are so low, you can easily run 2 off of a 550w PS. I have a 650 though. This card blows away the gtx 260 in every aspect. I play all the new games L4D2, WOW, MW2, all maxed out no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended. If your on the fence get this no doubt.

I am running it with an i5 4g ddr3 650 antec earth watts, gdpau4, etc.

My last card was a 7900GT until it died, so this is a great improvement. Card runs cool and quiet.

I don't know why I keep upgrading. All I play is CS:S.

As I was purchasing this in Oct 09, AMD has retaken the throne of graphics dominance with the HD 5870 series graphics card, packaging a powerful CPU in a small energy efficient package. This HD 5770 is a smaller cousin of that, and is probably the most powerful sub-$200 graphics card out there. It's powerful, supports Direct X 11, and is relatively quiet and energy efficient. Basically it consumes a similar amount of energy and has a similar operational temperature than the older GeForce 9600 GT or HD 4770 cards, and yet it performs about 30-40% better. If you want a medium range graphics card, this is a great product.

3.0 out of 5 stars I was disappointed on spending extra $100+ for using 3rd monitor, March 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card 100283L (Personal Computers)
I bought this video card because I have read about being able to display 3 monitors at once and I wanted to put 3 monitors for multi display and for occasional gaming.

On the card There are 2 digital output and 1 hdmi output for the monitors to be plugged in. When I plugged the 2 monitors to the digital video output and 1 monitors to the hdmi output, only 2 monitors were displaying. The third one did not work nor the computer recognizes the third monitor.

I had to do more digging around and found out that you need this thing called "display port adaptor" and that thing cost another $100 to spend.

I was thinking about just buying another ati5770 and cross fire but thats going to cost more so, I just went ahead an bought the adaptor.

When everything was installed and the computer was turned on the third monitor came to life.

In the software you can arrange the monitors the way you want it to be and when you move around several times, the thir monitor goes fuzzy and the only wayt to correct it is to turn the monitor off and back on.

I have no other issues yet. I will post if anything happens in future.

I gave a three star because I had to spend another 100+ to get the 3rd monitor going and I think company who sells this product should be more honest and state it clearly on the package.

Just bought another one of these for a second self-built box. Both work fine with Windows 7 Pro, and yield a rating of 6.0 in the Win 7 experience index. I am not a gamer, so keep that in mind. if you are a gamer, you might want to spend it all and get the faster Radeon 58xx-series.
