I bought this card at Amazon for $110 in December 2008. The free shipping service took about a week. Card installed without any problems and the included drivers are already the latest. I was thinking about getting an Nvidia 9800GT, but this board is comparable in performance and runs much cooler and quieter (around 44C under load). I was also thinking of ordering its bigger brother 4850, but reading all these reviews about how hot that cards run made me run away. This card is about 1 to 2 inch shorter than the nvidia cards, which I really like. The cooler will block one of the lower slots, hence taking two slots. One caveat is that this card will not support any operating systems older than Windows XP. I wanted to test this card on my older system with Windows 2000 and the drivers would not support it. Overall highly recommended. Sapphire did a great job here.

At the time of this writing this Sapphire Radeon HD 4830 is the king of the hill for budget graphics cards. I can play CoDWaW with all the settings maxed out on my Core2 E8400 (8GB RAM). The fan can be a little loud when you are not gaming so I connected a fan controller to turn it down when things are quiet.

I used the latest Catalyst Control Panel and driver release and things are running great. The included heatsink is well-made for a factory install. I read many great reviews of this card and my experience has been that it is a great card for the money if you want to play the latest games but can't swing $300-500 on a video card.

Sapphire is one of the top companies for making video cards and this one is no exception to their fine line of hardware. This thing has processing power that would have cost many hundreds of dollars just a couple years ago and it can now be found for around $100 or so. Make sure your PSU has the needed plug (a 6 pin PCI power connector) so you can feed this thing the power it requires. I'm running it with the excellent PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W power supply. Also, if you want to manually control the fan you will need some kind of 2-pin to 3-pin adapter.

In the world of graphics cards there is much hooplah about frames per second and getting every possible ounce of performance out of your gear, but how much do you really need to enjoy games? I've found that this card running in my machine gives me all I need to enjoy the latest games and I didn't spend $500 just on the graphics card.

For the first time I can actually max out settings on some games (1680x1050), including anti-aliasing, and play with the beautiful graphics that we all crave. Get this card, save some money, and play your favorite games today!

I had moved away from ATI for a number of years, swearing by nvidia products. While I still like the ease of install and seemingly more compatible drivers, you cannot argue ATI has taken over the budget card business as of this writing. While nvidia is rebadging old chips then renaming with few advancements for the budget conscious buyers, ATI and Sapphire seem to be targeting this audience with near cutting edge products users love. I have never been a big PC gamer but I do care about performance and this card performs and cannot be beat for the price.

Sapphire's Radeon 4830 card is top notch regardless of where you do your research before purchase. I looked at many cards for this recent build, my first all new PC in 3 years.

I am very satisfied from is performance, but it is little loud.
It isn't loud so you can ear it all the time,
only when my room is quiet(like in night).

Reemplace mi sapphire 3850 por esta ya que tuve la oportunidad y valio la pena. La temperatura es menor que la de la 3850 que podia llegar a los 70c sin overclock. Rendimiendo, En Devil May Cry 4 me dio el mismo rendimiento que la 3850 pero teniendo antileasing en x4 y con todos los detalles en super alto (con la 3850 en bajo, antileasing x0)

Friend bought a Dell with a Radeon 4850. Convinced me to play WoW, but it was pitiful with my GeForce 6600. Upgraded to the 4830, play at maximum resolution, and, the best part, the card never breaks a sweat, his 4850 (which costs almost twice as much) actually runs at a much higher temperature than the 4830. Fantastic buy for the money. Wife has a Radeon 3450 in hers which shows (granted, 30 browsers in Vista64) 40% activity and 48 degree temperature. Mine, with a 4830, shows 0% activity for web surfing with 39 degree temperature, and, when playing WoW, only goes up to 35% activity and 47 degree temperature.

For 84 bucks it can't be beat.

The fan can be a bit noisy, but acceptable.
Now I have it with a Zalman VF900 Cu and is very quiet and more cool.
The difference with my old EVGA GeForce 7800GT is very noticeable.

I have a Dell dual core PC, and wanted to upgrade my graphics card. This Sapphire 4830 was available for under $100 with free shipping. It has great reviews, and seemed like a good choice. On another PC I have installed a Sapphire 3850 which is very quiet. My hope was for a similar experience with this card.

Unfortunately, the fan on this card makes a bit of noise, and my silent PC is not not so silent. The ATI manual fan control API seems to limit my choice for fan speed down to 20%, but ATI's automatic control says it's at 10-11%. Even at 10-11% the card is cool (37C) but not very quiet. I'd like to try 2-5% and see what that does to heat and noise levels when the card is mostly idle. Unfortunately I don't seem able to do that.

On the positive side, this card runs great on Windows XP home (32 bit) and also runs on the Windows 7 32 and 64 bit beta. Installation on Windows 7 is automatic, but the wrong drivers are installed. The ATI Vista 32 and 64 bit control center and drivers install and work fine with Windows 7 (beta).

I just don't know if the noise level is acceptable, this may be a keeper, or not. In part based on my ability to lower the fan speed and see if that helps.

This was a great upgrade from my 8600gts. It's not too loud and has handled all games I've tried so far with high settings including Left 4 Dead. Installing drivers was cake and I've had no problems so far. It's an excellent card for those that want to play games with high settings but don't want to dish out the dough for other more costly cards like the 4870.

I will start by saying that this is one of the best value per dollar you could put towards anything if you like playing games on your PC. Combined with decent parts (I run this with an AMD X2 5000+ @ 3GHz, 2GB DDR2) you can run any new game in high detail and still maintain a decent framerate. My setup in Vista Ultimate x64 runs Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 single player with all advanced graphics settings on "High" at 1200x1024 at a solid 40 FPS. It's never gotten anywhere close to overheating it and I've abused it at 800MHz GPU/1100MHz VRAM. I recommend this to everybody who asks me about a video card or even a way to make their PC faster, it's a great value although at this point there are probably better values, but a year ago this was a great card and continues to excel at playing new games.
