Purchased this card when my nvidia 8800 GT died in a storm.

I've only had it for about a month now, but from what I can tell so far it's a solid card. It's quiet, and doesn't run hot, and it is over clockable with no issues or configuration tweaks. I only have it at a 5% OC, as I don't like to stress my equipment with massive overclocks.

Playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is smooth at 1900x1200 resolution, with the settings on high (except for a few settings which I needed to disable / bump down. I have seen a few texture problems, but I suspect that it's more related to the high settings and general "last generation" specs of the rest of my machine. Machine isn't super old, but when I built it, the 8800 GT was a high end card.

I can't speak to it's long term reliability so far, but from what I've seen, if you're looking to play modern games, and you don't mind playing at less than the absolute maximum settings, this card is a great value. I mean that in the very real sense of value, in that you're getting a good piece of hardware for a reasonable price. I'd recommend it to people looking to a small upgrade to their system who don't want to suffer from full PC gaming "upgraditis".

Well, I must admit that I should have known that it was risky to buy a used graphics card; but I bought this shipped from Amazon through an approved third party seller. When I first set it up in my older upgraded model HP Pavilion computer,(a1428x model with A8AE-LE mobo upgraded to 4GB Ram and an Opteron 185 cpu and a 600 watt psu) it seemed to be fine. I had first connected it to the computer through the HDMI connector (with an HDMI cable). It worked perfectly except for the sound, which in my case meant that I had to go into the BIOS and enable the speakers and then download a driver from Realtek. Later on, because I was repairing this computer( the older graphics card had died) for my brother to use, I prepared to connect it with a DVI to DVI cable as his monitor would not accept HDMI. I was disappointed and annoyed to discover that the female DVI connector on the card did not have the tiny metal connectors on each side to accept the male DVI to DVI cable connector that I was trying to use to connect the card to the monitor. I do not know if they had been removed purposely before the card was offered for sale, or if they had somehow come unscrewed in the shipping process, etc. I only know that I consider this a learning experience and most likely will never buy another piece of used electronic equipment; I will not try to return the thing as I did not notice this flaw until I had already tried to use it before I noticed it. I have already bought a new card from the lower end HD 6xxxx series which should work out better anyway.

This video card for what I bought it for, does what it is supposed to do. I like to watch 1080p movies and play old video games on my computer, and the quality on my 24" screen is superb. Even though my monitor does not have a HDMI input, I like the fact that this Radeon card has that upgrade option.

good card at right price. This was the second card, first was cheaper via newegg but sold out. I do need to turn gamma down a bit on high end games .
