4.0 out of 5 stars Excelent value!, October 4, 2010

I have to choose between this Radeon HD 5670 and the Nvidia Geforce GT 240. After comparing the product features and the hardware, I realized that the HD 5670 could bring much more value for the same price. The support for DirectX 11 is an advantage which the Nvidia counterpart doesn't have, besides the fact it has more cores, more memory bandwidth, a more robust heat sink, better driver support, 40 nm manufacturing process and a higher GPU clock. Furthermore, it doesn't require a powerful power source, so I could kept mine and save an amount of money I would have to spend if I had chosen a Geforce 9800 GTX+.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good right out of the box, August 9, 2010

First thing I should say is I recently upgraded my desktop to Win7 Pro x64. I had Vista before and my comp would crash anytime it did any moderate video processing, so I wasn't worried about a video card. Once I installed 7 and started playing some games, I realized that the onboard GPU just wasn't cutting it. For under $100 this card delivers the goods, its comparable to the nVidia 9800GTX and in one of my games I went from 5-7fps to 40+fps with no tweaking. I just installed the card and turned the comp back on. The software suite Catalyst 10.1 actually works (i've had problems with it in the past) and the card makes my games look amazing and my downloaded vids and movies really shine. If your looking for a budget card and you want to play some newer games this is the card to get in this price bracket. If you can spend $150 then go for the 5770 or the 5870, but for under $100 this card is hard to beat. It runs pretty quiet as well, but the one caveat I have for it is the size, it is a large card. If your computer has a small case, you might wanna measure the case before you buy the card. I love Sapphire products, they are generous with the memory and the aftermarket tweaks really give you the edge in fast paced gaming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great in a HTPC, June 14, 2010

This is a great little card for use in an HTPC. This replaced a BFG 9800GT in the system because I needed an HDMI output. One thing that surprised me was the lack of a need to hook up a separate power connector to the card. It is hooked up to my 37" Vizio SV370XVT and does a wonderful job running XBMC. It also does a good job running some games, though that's not it's primary use on this system. This card was recommended to me by the guys over at the AVS forums for use in an HTPC.
