World Class Gaming Performance for Everyone Prices

Mantle and Crossfire Ready

Mantle gives game developers the power to speak directly to the GPU core. With such a direct connection to your hardware, game developers are discovering a whole new world of immersion and performance made possible by AMD graphics leadership.

Keep it cool with Dual-X

The ‘dual’ in Dual-X refers to the two highly advanced cooling fans that are coupled with multi-heatpipe technology to cool mid- to high-end graphics cards.

The fans are amazing: each blade boasts a sleek airfoil shape that increases cool air throughput so they can run slower. Even when you’re pushing processing power to the limits. Even when you’re overclocking.

The quiet-running fans work with multi-heatpipes and heatsinks that take away heat from the processor to the fans. Plus, dust-repelling bearings radically reduce failure caused by the build-up of dirt.

In short, it’s a quiet, efficient way of cooling your graphics card – even when you’re pushing it to the limits.

AMD Eyefinity Technology

AMD Eyefinity 2.0 featuring support for stereo 3D-multi-display stereoscopic 3D support via DisplayPort 16K X 16K maximum display group resolution-output up to 268 megapixels per GPU. Perfect for powering HD displays.AMD CrossFireX Multi-GPU Technology: Triple or Quadruple gaming power with AMD CrossFireX Multi-GPU Technology. AMD CrossFireX technology supports up to four graphics cards to be used in a single system.

AMD Stream Technology

Accelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processor on tasks other than traditional graphics; tasks such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.

I can play any game on it at max settings, and it runs smooth.

It was easy to install in the PC, easy to install the drivers (I recommend you download the latest from AMD's site, not use the one from the box.
Stephen Lerch
Bottom line: One of the best cards for the value available on the market.

I debated long and hard on whether to upgrade my current card (an AMD HD 5870) which was a high end card in 2010 and was performing pretty well on almost all my games. But it was falling below the recommendated specs for upcoming games and into the minimum requirement category. My concern was that the newer newer cards had 500W or higher power suppy requirements (I have a certified 450 watt Power supply) or that they may not fit in my Dell XPS 8300 case. But i had been watching this Saphire R9 270 in my cart for a few weeks when it went on sale for $170 and I had to try an see if I could run it and gain any improvements.

Turns out that this card is actually about 3 inches shorter than my old HD 5780 and uses only one 6-pin connector versus the the 2 I had on the 5870. It was a snap to install and fit in my case better than the old card. Since I already had the most recent AMD Catalyst/driver installed, it was literally a plug and play operation for me. I seated the new card, plugged in the single connector, and turned on the PC and let the drivers install themselves and update Catalyst.

I first ran the newest 3DMark benchmark and saw a 57% increase in the Fire Strike test from 3200 to 5960. I then fired up Battlefield 4 and was running the campaign at ultra settings with no stutter or FPS drops during fire fights when I had to use med-high settings before. During testing, temps never went above 60c and the card ran quiety. My power supply appears to be more than adequate as the card drew only about 70W under load. For reference, the rest of my systems key components include an iCore 7-2600 CPU, 8 GB DDR 3 RAM, and a 1TB Seagate HDD.

Right now this card appears to have been an excellent upgrade to my gaming PC. I will update if I encounter problems or issues.

This has been my first upgrade to my graphics card. The one I owned before was an outdated Radeon 5450 that came with my studio Dell Studio XPS 7100. The card easily fit inside the original XPS 7100 case and drivers were installed quickly over the internet. It does use 1 6pin connector so make sure your psu has a spare

So far I have been super satisfied! The card plays all the games I have tried so far with no problem at 1920x1080. I can play Far Cry 3 at max settings with an avg frame rate of around 50. The highest temp the card reaches is 70 C and no higher.

Battlefield 3 can also be maxed out with an avg of 40-50 frames but in order to this be sure you can definitely keep the card cool by turning up the fans or having good airflow in your in order to prevent the game from crashing. Because of this I play on High settings at 60 fps with temps around 60 C

A more recent such as Watch Dogs runs at 35-50 frames on medium with high bringing it down to about 25-40 fps.

The card runs very quietly and overall I am very satisfied with this as my first major upgrade. Would definitely recommend to someone who is upgrading from a pretty old card. At 159.99 with a $10 mail in rebate (which I just sent out) the price would come out to 149.99.

For reference the rest of my specs: CPU - AMD Phenom II x6 1035T at 2.60 GHz , 16 GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 RAM, and 3 1TB HardDrives.

I love this graphics card! I have her paired with an AMD FX-8350 and I am playing any game I can throw at it on ultra and pounding great frames *Battlefield 4!*. I have had no problems with this card AT ALL. I checked the GPU temp using a program on the interwebs and she produces almost no heat at full load so the Dual-X fans are almost not needed lel.

P.S. I was going to go with the Sapphire Radeon R9 270x but after doing some research I figured out that the 270 is the 270x underclocked. All you have to do is buy the 270 and overclock it a little and its a cheaper 270x. I've overclocked her good and no additional cooling is needed. EXCELLENT CARD!!
