This review is from: Saracen & The Dove (Audio CD)
Briefly, this is the best recording of Ars Subtilior music ever made--the finest control of tuning and rhythmic complexities, the most insightful interpretation, the most lucid program notes, and the clearest audio. Don't hesitate! Buy it!

Medieval bel canto,
By John Ekberg (Denmark) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Saracen & The Dove (Audio CD)
The secular and religious works on this cd are composed by some of the great italian composers from about 1400 in the courts of Padua and Pavia.
The music makes use of many complex techniques like canons, and yet it is melodic and beautiful, like italian music in later centuries used to be. It is a delight to listen to The Orlando Consort presenting these works.

Thoroughly enjoyable,
By Ken Cybulska "Ken Cybulska" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Saracen & The Dove (Audio CD)
Richly intoned and performed by the Orlando Consort. Beautifully rendered chant-like chorales, seriously, confidently and expertly sung!
