This was one of the most engaging books I've read in a long time. I literally could not put it down - I was planning to read for 15 minutes before bed and instead read until 2:00 in the morning. Definitely worth reading!

I didn't want to put it down! The book starts with a diverse cast of characters, gradually weaving their stories together into an explosive battle between the loathsome Dracula and the otherworldly Saragossa. It has everything, wonderful characters who have real lives, loves and goals--who must redefine everything they want and believe in order to combat the evil that stalks them, the most intelligent vampire lore I've ever read, a fascinating history of the world as shaped by the rabies virus, and a style so readable the book practically flows.
This is not a vampire love fantasy for teenage girls, but a riveting tale so tightly stitched into the real world it'll have you convinced the undead walk among us today. Loved it!

This is a fascinating story, a compelling read. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in vampires, werewolves and magic. I learned so much and enjoyed every minute of the process. The characters are well drawn and the narrative sweeps us along into a world where the real and the imagined blend seamlessly. This book has it all: horror, mystery, magic, history, action and even a love story woven into one
incredible but highly believeable tale. Apparently,this is a first book for this author. Bravo, Mr. Tuck! Well done. Now I'm waiting for the next one.
