This mattress came rolled up, about the size of a heavyweight punching bag. I unwrapped it, and let it sit on my floor to air out it took about 12 hours to come to full form. After that, it felt wonderful. I slept through the night, never waking, and felt refreshed in the morning. The smell was a little weird, but putting sheets over it solved the problem mostly. Also, if you're trying to save money by buying this, opt out of the two extra pillows and pay less for just the mattress. I found two much more decently sized pillows at the local Bed Bath and Beyond for $14.00. If you want save even more money, make your own foundation for the bed. I used two by fours, some plywood, and six cinderblocks, all dressed up with a little fabric to make it look good. All in all, a very good mattress for the money. Time will tell if it holds out.

After one full year of using this mattress, this is what I have to say:

STAY AWAY FROM THIS MATTRESS!!!!!
At first it feels great.. But then after a few (3-4) months, there are two very deep permanent dips in the bed. We rotate our mattress every 30 days (which we shouldn't have to do so often) and it is the most uncomfortable sleep I have EVER had the misfortune of experiencing.

This mattress is poorly made with cheap materials, and I only wish I could get a refund for it.

Never again will I buy anything Sarah Peyton.

It is terrible that ONE YEAR after buying a mattress that is supposed to last several years, we are already researching new mattresses.

Especially compared to the price this mattress is one of the deals of the century. I tested several mattresses in department stores that felt not as comfortable and were triple the price. I was hesitant at the beginning because I don't believe in purchasing mattresses without testing them first (we spend too much of our lives on them) but I listened to my instinct and my wallet. I was more pleased than I was expected. Mattress came wrapped up and compressed (making it easy to move it around) and It took about 24 hours for it to get to its actual size. Yes, the smell was not that pleasant but not that horrible either. I burnt some essential oils and left my bedroom's window open and there you go, smell disappeared the day after. I am a lover of extra firm mattress and please note that this feels... really firm. Quality of my sleep improved. Shipping was super punctual, mattress was delivered the first day of the window I was given.

I bought this mattress one year ago. At first it was fine, but three months in I started to notice that it didn't seem as supportive as it had at first. It just got worse until it felt like I was sleeping in a hole. Recently I got fed up and decided to do an autopsy. I ripped the 2" memory foam layer off and the foam underneath was visibly concave underneath. It has basically lost all resilience. I am 5'8" and weigh 195lbs -- I'm not huge and there's no reason that a mattress should buckle under my weight after only a few months!

I think this mattress gets a lot of positive reviews because people review it as soon as they get it or after a week or so. I figured the people who wrote bad reviews were either super-heavy or just complainers who wouldn't be satisfied with anything. Not so in this case. Sigh, money down the drain. At least it was cheap. :)

I read almost every review before buying this product.
I almost didn't buy it because of the NEGATIVE reviews.
When it arrived, I was shocked how squashed it was... which was to be expected, but as soon as it was placed on the bed and the vacuum seal was removed it inflated itself...
It takes 24 to 48 hours for the mattress to be ready for you... allow it that amount of time... it is worth the weight.
YES... the pillows are not as wide as a regular pillow, but I haven't moved off of one yet. Bigger pillows would have been a waste to me.

My normal night's sleep is 3 to 4 hours and a wake-up, then toss turn, toss turn, maybe a nap in the next 2 to 3 hours that I lay there... From my first night on the mattress...here is the HONEST routine:
Go to my room; Turn on a movie (lately it has been x-files reruns on Netflix), Climb into bed, I am asleep before the credits run at the begining of the show... SLEEP straight no wake-ups for at least 8 to 9 hours unless my alarm goes off. SUCCESS!!! I have no complaints.

To the Negative posts who talk about the bed being lumpy, etc. ... and who talk about how they do everything right they EVEN TURN THE MATTRESS OVER every month... BULL HOCKEY!
The Mattress is Memory foam on top of a base foam.... YOU NEVER FLIP this mattress.
There is even instructions with the mattress that tell you NEVER NEEDS FLIPPING... I don't know what these people are sleeping on or what they are flipping but it is not this product. And, if it is, then no wonder they have problems...duh.

WARNING!!!! - This mattress is listed as FIRM, and make no mistake it is a FIRM mattress, but that is what I wanted and what I enjoy.

I am totally satisfied with this purchase.

I purchased this mattress thinking that if the original retail price was over $1200, it MUST be a really good memory foam mattress. You get what you pay for.

After sleeping on this mattress for less than 5 months my lower back is a COMPLETE MESS! This mattress has "anti-support!"

The mattress has settled and sags and the only memory it has it of the 120 lbs. that just slept in it for 8 restless hours. And it retains that sag!

I feel like a threw away $350! And had to spend $2,200 on a REAL Tempurpedic Memory Foam mattress. Plus the chiropractor and chronic pain. . . And I am only 41.

If I could only get my money back!

I have loved this mattress. I have woken feeling fresh and relaxed. I have slept through the night without issue. The value is exceptional in mu opinion.

The only drawback is the size is not the same as a tradiotional queen, but this is minor.

Like others, after months of use this mattress has sags in the
areas where we sleep. By rotating, a prior reviewer meant
front to back, not upside down: we tried that also; no good!
Feel we wasted our money on this due to false advertising
and premature review ratings.
Would NOT recommend!

If you want to throw away $3,200 on a Tempur-Pedic, you don't need to shop on Amazon. This memory foam mattress is very near the major brand at a fraction of the price. I've been sleeping on a king size Dormia brand (made in USA) foam mattress that can run circles around a Tempur-Pedic and I paid just under $1,000, and it has several different layers and densities of foam, and has a New Zealand lambs wool layer below a bamboo cloth top cover for breathable comfort.

I purchased the Sarah Peyton mattress for a spare room for both guests and when I get kicked out of the master bedroom for snoring, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. An interesting side note is that I ordered one and when I opened it up it would not fully expand in the center creating a five inch difference between the center and sides. Even after four weeks. This was probably due to factory packaging before being fully cured. I was afraid to try a second one but since Amazon was willing to exchange it, I went for it. Kudos to Amazon to stand behind their sales even when they might take a loss! I'll keep buying here.

As another reviewer mentioned, these mattresses come highly compressed and rolled up in a blue tarp, the shape and size of a large duffel bag or hanging punching bag. The second mattress came and when opened, it immediately expanded within a minute and in ten minutes was full size and ready to go with the exception of venting. It did reach the full measured size using a tape measure. Apparently some of the earlier reviewers weren't getting the full 10 inches.

Yes, memory foam mattresses are vey pungent when opened and the smell will linger for a week or so until vented. Foam is a chemical reaction from liquefied ingredients. It's just like a new car smell a new camper with lots of formaldehydes in the parts. Maybe obnoxious to some, but not toxic as another reviewer stated. Toxic is defined as poisonous and I hardly think the consumer protection agency people would allow that, especially with children.

The bottom line is this mattress is SUPER COMFORTABLE and I would buy it again. However, please be aware that it is made in China, it carries no warranty and it appears that Sarah Peyton is simply a brand label and there is no company to contact from what I found on the Internet. That is why I could only give it '4 stars'. You have to weigh out whether saving $2,500+ for an equivalent mattress is worth it for those points.

Follow up on May 7, 2011: SUPER SATISFIED! Mattresses are a very individual choice for personal comfort and what one person likes, another may not. For me, this one is a winner. I think some of the other dissatisfied purchasers in early 2011 got the same original batch I did that wasn't fully cured before they rolled it up at the factory for shipping. That 'sagging' part is the bottom latex layer that didn't expand back to it's original shape.

I got this mattress at least 6 months ago, probably 8, i have always had problems with my back since football when i was young, this bed really makes a difference compared to the spring mattress i had before this. the days when i woke up with a sore back are gone and i didnt have to spend $1,500.00 =D

i was able to sleep on it that night after i set it up at 11AM, it doesnt stink and the pillows are nice, they have a shape for when you want to sleep on your back and front, and another one for when you want to sleep on your side. just turn it :P
