The list author says: "These are the presents Sarah got for her 1st birthday. I had wanted to get her the 'Counting Candles' birthday cake, but we'll do that on another birthday. Most of these were hits.
She loves the elmo, gears, Rumble & Learn, Piggy bank, puzzles, & tea pot especially. Also, I recommend getting the Playskool Ball Popper if you don't have one. Skip Thomas until your baby is a little older. The SUV is not worth the price tag. The teaching clock and bumble bee were hits as well, but they don't seem very durable. She coos and giggles at the seahorse but it's too bright to let her sleep with it. The pink cat is as long as she is, but she loves chewing on the tail.
Oh, get one of those teething feeders to put ice in if you don't have one. We didn't buy it for her birthday, but they're a life saver. We've been putting bits of Pedialite Popsicles in it (cherry is her fav)."
"I know this isn't getting good ratings, & I'm not sure I would've bought it for her at this price. However, I just found it at Sears for 1/2 price. She responds to this thing in the store more than any other similar products, & for $15 we couldn't pass it up."
"Also bought at Sears 1/2 price after Christmas sale. Not sure it'd be worth the price listed here. $8 was worth it. Sarah loves the Little People Airplane, Market, & Castle we bought at a consignment store earlier this year. The main issue I have with this is that the only door that opens is the back door. This has no moving side doors yet it sings a song called "Open and close.""
"She liked it until I took it out of the package and let it roll. It scares her. It says on the package for ages 18 months and up. Hopefully, she'll like it then. It's a really cool toy once you switch it out of the demo mode, but then we bought it on clearance for $10. Not sure if it's worth the original price."
"My mother bought something like this only embroidered with "Sarah's 1st Birthday" on it. I also ordered a handmade embroidered diaper cover for her to wear. We also found another birthday dress (spare) at a consignment store (it was a lucky find as it still had its tag)."
"Gift from Grandma Mimi! Sarah loves this, but there was a problem with the copy she has. Apparently there are supposed to be foil stickers or something under each flap and there aren't. Sarah loves it anyway. It wouldn't bother me except that one of the flaps says, "Here are some sparkly presents!" When the presents are not sparkly."
