It makes the process sooo much easier!

This paper is great for transferring patterns to paper, and then to fabric (remember to check a piece of the fabric before Tracing).

Good product can reuse the same sheet several times by moving it around to trace no matter how hard you push the first time

I purchased this to hopefully speed up the pumpkin carving process at Halloween. I carve out several each year and it's a time consuming project. This product was exactly what I was looking for. Tape it to the pumpkin. Place the pattern over it and trace the drawing. The transfer paper provides an excellent blue line tracing on the pumpkin that easy to see and follow. Transferred six patterns onto six pumpkins in about 30 minutes......with the "punch a hole" method, this would've taken around two to two and a half hours. I'll be using this product every Halloween.

I like it. I use it all the time to transfer my drawings to canvas. Doesn't bother the paint process. Will buy again as often as needed.

I had my doubts as I always figure that nothing works as stated or expected. However, I got the joy of unexpected positive results when this worked exactly correctly. It does not smear, at all. It erases with a simple pencil eraser. It is re-usable. It is on a roll but you can reverse roll it and it lays perfectly flat. Use the tip of a mechanical pencil with the lead retracted to trace over an object or a broad pointed ball point. I whittled a stylus because I can and it was slick. Or you can purchase an official tracing thingy if you like.

I purchased this to trace an embroidery pattern onto fabric. I designed the pattern on my computer, printed it out on regular paper, and then used this Saral paper to transfer to white denim. The final project is an embroidered kids pillow. I had to push really hard to get the blue to go through, usually tearing the paper - which led to less accurate tracing. And even then, i got a decent pattern traced onto the fabric but not great. And more importantly, immediately after i started working on the project, much of the tracing started rubbing out completely. Luckily, i had also bought a blue washable fabric tracing marker, and i went over the whole original tracing with the marker. That marker is still in place 6 weeks later (let's hope it actually washes out after setting into the fabric so long).

I'm usually just painting directly from life; but for those times that I want to transfer a particular sketch I've made to the canvas, I love this blue Saral transfer paper. It's wax-free so it doesn't alter my paints when I apply them later. Also, unlike traditional carbon paper, there's no powdery mess or smears.

I place a length of this blue transfer paper along with an overlay of my prior sketch on top of my easeled canvas and secure it in place with bulldog clamps. I trace over the outlines and important details of my sketch using a pen of a different color ink (so you can tell where you've already traced). When you pull away the transfer paper and sketch, the blue image left behind is faint but detectable. If I'm going to be applying an overall wash or imprimatura in a darker color prior to painting, I'll trace over the blue lines with a black or brown fine-point permanent ink marker that will show through the stain of the imprimatura.

Because Saral's blue version is non-photographic, it's not necessary to clean off the blue image before your in-progress work goes before the camera. Saral makes the transfer paper in other colors, too (white, yellow, red, and standard graphite). I also like the white version for use on dark surfaces.

I bought this to be able to transfer markings from pattern to fabric for a class in fitting commercial patterns to any body shape. It may be the type of fabric I am using for the mock up to be fair, but no matter how hard I trace the lines, it barely comes thru on the fabric. I have to squint to see them & then retrace them with ruler & marker to be able to use them.

The reviews I had read about this transferring to fabric had been mixed so I thought I'd give it a try. It did not work at all on transferring markings to the jacquard fabric I was using. It might work ok on a cotton or a knit but don't count on it!
