Wonderful but recycled,

It's hard to justify buying this book. Although beautifully photographed with characteristically interesting subjects, these images have already been shown on The Sartorialist blog and Schuman's GQ page. I imagined more of a big, glossy volume and at least a little bit of new photography (instead of new photos, though, there is some caption-style writing). But as it turns out, the book's size is really fantastic, as is the use of thick matte paper. It's also very well priced, so generally speaking my disappointment comes from the expectation of new material.
Schuman is a talented photographer and may be the pioneer of street-style blogs, but he isn't as talented as some of his peers. For example, the French photographer Garance Dore is much more skilled in photography, which may be related to her artistic background as an illustrator. She has a more developed eye for representing beautiful things (rather than just recognizing them), so even though her subjects are more or less the same as Schuman's her photos are much more satisfying to look at.

People-Watching Without Going Outside...,

On-the-street fashions are the best. I picked this book up specifically because I was looking for a book of street fashions. I enjoyed this one. It has a lot of beautiful looks in it, but it doesn't have the FORCE of Fruits or Vice Dos and Don'ts: 10 Years of VICE Magazine's Street Fashion Critiques. Like I said, there's some inspiration in here, and some originality, but mostly it's photographs of thin rich people wearing expensive clothes.
I mean, it's nice to see rich people who aren't boring...

Great content.,

I was suprised at the size of this book. It's on the smaller size but very thick and inside I found so many great fashion photographs. It really made me want to dress up and travel the world! I especially loved the photos shot in Paris--so stylish! Overall, this is a great purchase and I am so glad to add it to my collection.

Ok. Let me confess. I'm a huuuge fan of the blog. This book is a presentation of the best pictures culled from Scot Schuman's blog, The Sartorialist. It is a visual and stylish delight. Absolutely wonderful to flip through. The photographs are stunning studies of individual style and quite a colorful inspiration. See all those boots and carmel brown shoes in the photos? Now look around, and you'll see them everywhere in everytown. I think Scot S made a strong impact on fashion, by stylishly chronicling it.

This book is a must for every fashion, photography and people lover. I enjoyed the pics and the written parts very much. It also gives you great ideas about styling and creating an atmosphere if you're dealing with fashion on a daily basis. I loved it, can't wait for the second one (which I hope is already in the making-of).

This book is a great adjunct to the author's famous website. I have dog-eared so many pages (many more than I have in recent editions of Vogue or Harpers Bazaar) that showcase terrific, real-life STYLE. This book would make a great stocking stuffer for your fashionista friends, or even a nice hostess gift for style-conscious holiday party givers.

Just received The Sartorialist book and although it was a bit
on the smaller side, (I forgot to check for dimensions) I am super pleased. The content is amazing- Love all the images. The quality of the book/pages/print is excellent. In 2005, The Sartorialist author (and photographer) Scott Schuman, began a photography blog covering the "Fashion Forward" and Fashion Week on the East and West coast of No America and Europe. He is very stylish himself! and has a great eye for spotting a Fashionista on the street! His blog has been a hit ever since. I am personally addicted. Again, job well done, Scott Schuman! A must book for any fashionista.

It's the most overrated book ever..... I'M JUST KIDDING! I PERSONALLY ENJOYED & I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE STYLISH FASHION PHOTOS. I loved it is a straight up look book and don't require a lot of reading. I ran across the The Sartorialist's blog a few years ago and I was very impressed with Scott's fashion photography. However, I will say 97% of the photos are stylish, color coordinate in some way, and were not very over the top. 1.5% of the photos were over the top and other 1.5% were unattractive. The only thing I can say I wish I seen way more minorities and men in casual sportswear style. Usually when I purchase a fashion style media on Amazon, I be very afraid it doesn't meet my expectations. Many people disliked my Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Style: How to Find Your Perfect Look [Paperback]
Ann Shoket (Author), Editors of Seventeen Magazine (Author) review. I'm planning to resale the book to Half Price's bookstore, but anyways The Sartorialist's book is a keeper. I enjoyed seeing the unique styles I had seen in the book. I love the book WASN'T TOO SERIOUS, ANTI ELDERLY, ANTI-MATCHING, TAKE THE LIFE OUT OF THE PICTURES, & PHOTOSHOP THEM TO DEATH. I'm a member of a well-known street fashion site. It's refreshing to see a style that isn't all about snapbacks (sometimes fitted) caps, designer shades (Ray Bans), street wear label graphic tees; bottoms such as slim fit, skinny jeans, or cargo shorts. Fashions such as denim jacket or outerwear all which is labeled by a brand from karmaloop, Levi's 501, or street wear label that color coordinates to over the top color way Nikes (such as Dunks or Blazers) or Jordans. It's not about being a hoarder of Nikes & Jordan sneakers. Fashion style doesn't mean three or four types of fashion styles (sneaker head, females who wear sexy revealing tight clubwear, over the top or over doing it anti match matchy fashionistia who threw too many pieces on, or in your face name brand labeled sportswear). I'm not degrading their styles. In The Sartorialist's book it is refreshing to see REAL STYLE NOT SOMETHING MADE UP BY SUPERIFICAL FASHION MEDIA OR DESIGNER. This why typical I afraid to purchase a fashion media, this be the case. *List "pieces" those are not realistic to find in the mall or designer boutique *Never demonstrate how to wear a mass produced trend style wise realistically. People in the real world don't focus their time what's original or what's not. We have bills to pay. We care how long the quality is going to last and is the garment has a classic appeal whether it classic, trendy, or vintage inspired. Does the garment flatter our body and realistic to cooperate in our lifestyle? *Overdo it when putting an outfit together *So anti-match- matchy and don't believe in color coordination in some way like basic matching the colors, monochromatic, or complimentary in some way *Focus on degrading women body types that are not built like a runway model and try cover their "flaws", but these women are the reason they in business *So anti-color or degrading older women I love the The Sartorialist's book doesn't conform to these stereotypes. I'm happy with my purchase. I'm update this review.

Oh man, I love this book sooo much! I've been excited about his book ever since I ordered it. It has all the style I am looking for, and I can always find what I want to be dressed like as soon as I open the book. I know you guys may think the pictures in the book are all from Scott's blog, but I don't think I will have time to look it up online everytime I don't know what I am going to wear for tomorrow. But now since I have already got book, I can just opend it up and choose! It also has comments from Scott about some of the details of how people dress that way, it is really fun and enjoyable reading it! If you are looking for a book like this, you should definitely get this one instead of others, because IT IS THE SARTORIALIST!
