This review is from: Sashiko and Beyond: Techniques and Projects for Quilting in the Japanese Style (Paperback)
What I like most about this book is that it contains quite a few traditional Sashiko patterns that can be resized and the number of applique projects and instructions for making Japanese decorative knots. Though I don't consider it a negative it is not a current book(published in 1993). Valuable resource for Sashiko lovers.

I originally got this book from the library and liked it so much that I bought one myself. It is a special but easy technique that makes unique little bags shaped like animals and other items that are beautiful. I sewed all of the ones I made by hand with little stitches. More original and I suggest this, although you can sew most of the items with mostly sewing machine stitches. Some hand stitching required on some of the designs-but dont let that discourage you. They are one of a kind and so worth making. A good project to do while watching TV. I highly recommend it.
