This pizza stone is wonderfull. Cookies come out perfect with a nicely browned bottom and chewy. Nothing seems to overcook on here.my foods also do not stick. It changes colors after time and developes it own look. The rack is a great bonus. I had a pizza stone before that did not come with a rack and its a pain. You can either put the stone AND rack into the oven for easy retreaval or keep the rack out and put the hot stone onto it so you can carry and handle it. I also cook everything on this pizza, fishsticks, fries, cookies and so on. This a MUST HAVE for every kitchen

This stone is well worth the price. I have used a deepdish stone before and have wanted a "pizza" stone for a long time to use for rolls, biscuits, cookies . . . and frozen pizza! I have tried all and they turn out absolutely tasty - - taste homemade!

I ordered this as a gift for my sister. It arrived in shards. Considering how thin it is, it's a wonder there haven't been more reports of breaking, like with Sassafras' other pizza stones. We will not exchange this for a new one. We will get a refund and try a thicker, sturdier stone. (Our 1/2" stone has given reliable service for about 5 years.)

I used this item exactly as recommended. I placed the stone in the cold oven, preheated the oven with the stone to 500 degrees and the stone cracked right down the middle. This was the first time using the stone after buying it 2 days ago!!!! This product is garbage.

It works beautifully.
Upon the 3rd use, I heard a terrible snap. The stone broke in half. Of course, I followed the directions. Perhaps it is just too thin for real world usage.

This is more than a Pizza Stone, it is a total Baking Stone. Not only does it do the job on fresh homemade pizza, but also frozen pizza, cookies, fish sticks, fries, bisquits and almost anything else that is baked in the oven.The secret is the clay stone, clay will distribute the heat evenly and effectively resulting in a uniform browned crust. The sloped edge on the stone helps keep the items somewhat on the stone. It even includes a metal serving rack which can be put into the oven with the stone and lifted out together, or left on the counter top while the stone is in the oven, then used to hold the hot stone upon removal. Clean up is a breeze, just hand wash with hot water. DO NOT USE SOAP!! The stone will actually become 'seasoned' with use, and the small clay pores will retain some of the oil from previous use. However, if soap is used, the soap will be retained in the small pores, leaving a very bad soap taste for the next use. Great product, great price, great and multi uses. A definite must in any baking kitchen, even if it is just baking the frozen pizza..!

We had a RECTANGULAR baking stone form Sassafras and loved it. It did not break under normal use. We had to replace it only after it was dropped on the edge of the sink. We thought the ROUND one would provide the same durability. WRONG!!! On the third use we suddenly had 3 baking stones but not a one we could use. I have never been more dissapointed in a kitchen product.

We have had our Sassafras baking stones for at least 7 years. We now have two of them, a 13 inch and a 15 inch. We just love them. We have never had the break on us. The SECRET is DO NOT CUT ON THE STONE!!!!!!!! The pizza should be slid off onto a pizza palet or something else and THEN cut into pieces. When you cut on the stone, you are scoring the stone, thus leading to its breakage.

We loved our pizza stone. We used it for rolls and tortillas and, of course, pizzas. That was, till it broke.
We swear we read the instructions, and it didn't mention fragility anywhere - only that we shouldn't wash with soap in order to season the stone. Imagine our surprise when, crack!, it broke after fewer than 20 uses. I guess we'll buy a different one. But, man, we wished they'd said something before spending a year on this one.

I received my stone last week and made a wonderful recipe of baguettes and was very satisfied - until I tried to use the stone again. I followed all the recommended precautions, but the stone cracked right down the middle during the second use. I have sent it back for a replacement, but based on the reviews I just read, I don't know if I should have spent the money on returning it. If I have problems with the second one, I'll get a refund and call Pampered Chef and buy one of theirs!
