This review is from: Sassoon's Long Journey: An Illustrated Selection from Siegfried Sassoon's 'The Complete Memoirs of George Sherston' (Hardcover)
There are many books that I am reading constantly, but have little time to review. This is an exception. This is an edited version of Siegfried Sassoon's "memoirs of George Sherston" (Sassoon's memoirs) On almost every page are carefully selected photos by Paul Fussell of the WWI. This is a moving account of trench warfare and the many questions lying behind the war decisions. Mainly it is Sassoon's observations and his almost love affair with the war and his hatred of the thousands killed. This is a fine book, worth anyone's time and thoughts concerning WWI.
