I am so glad I read the reviews of other spout guards - several of them mentioned that the other guards were too small to fit their faucets and so I ordered this one because it's "bigger" and it fit my standard sized spout perfectly.
It's also easy to clean so I don't have to worry about mold and mildew. Once a week I just toss it into the dishwasher.

First of all, this Froggie Spout Guard is absolutely adorable! But more importantly, in the short time I've had it, it has already saved my son from a few bruises and/or cuts from the faucet. The frog fits my faucet perfectly; I can leave it on while the water is running and not have the water back up into it. I've had it now for about 3 months and I've put it in the dishwasher once and have never had any mildew build up inside. As other reviewers have mentioned, my son can pull the guard off the faucet pretty easily. But as he is getting used to it being there, his interest level in pulling it off is going down and I'm sure soon he will leave it alone altogether.

We purchased this spout guard specifically to prevent injury during exhuberant play in the bath tub. Our son likes to splash a lot and will stand up very quickly if he gets water in his eyes. This product has plenty of cushion to prevent him from hurting his head. The only downside is that it doesn't allow us to switch from tub spout to shower because the pull-up knob is covered by the frog's head. Otherwise, it's perfect for keeping our son from hurting his head.

This works well as a spout guard. But when running the faucet with this on causes the water to back up and could cause water to be pushed back into the tile area. We normally fill the tub before putting this on. It's fine to protect the spout from accidental bonks - but it's also very loose and can be pulled of easily.

I'm so glad I found Froggie! Our bathtub is larger than standard and the thick faucet extends far out from the tiles around the bathtub. Another spout cover I purchased did not fit our wide spout. Froggie fits it very well, and is even long enough to really provide great bump protection.
Froggie can easily be pulled off or bumped while running the tub such that the water starts flowing backwards onto the tiles and not into the tub. However, it's easy to nudge him into a good position. My son really likes Froggie and does try to touch him from time to time, but he's usually good at following the rule of not touching him. I had been starting to think I wouldn't be able to find a spout cover that worked for our non-standard spout, but I was wrong. Thanks, Froggie!

Works great - exactly what we were looking for,

This is what I was looking for to keep my daughter from hurting her head on the bath spout and it does exactly that. We put it on the spout after the bath is full since the spout guard tends to cause the water to flow out the back if you leave it on while filling the bathtub. It fits rather loosely and my daughter was able to pull it off easily, wanting to play with it, but it got old after awhile and now she leaves it on the spout. You will need to clean it periodically because mold tends to build up on the inside.

This frog is cute and that's pretty much all it's good for. It doesn't stay on the faucet. You might as well use a cement block as a faucet protector because that is how hard this thing is. ouch.

This ended up being a bad idea for us because having a cheerful looking frog on the faucet made it much more appealing than it was before when our son mostly ignored the faucet. It fit well if you push it on and then don't touch it, but our son of course wanted to touch Mr. Froggie and ended up pulling it off. Now it is just a bath toy since it never stays on for very long because he pulls it off. We don't have a little thing to pull up on the spout to make sure it sticks on. It would be nice if the plastic was a little bit more flexible and it could be pushed onto the faucet more tightly. That said, if you can get your kids to look at it, rather than touch it, it might serve its purpose well. Although, it is still pretty hard if they hit their head on it - maybe something softer would work better. So - not great, not terrible. I wouldn't buy it again, obviously.

I ordered this because it was described in the title as "soft" tub spout guard. It arrived in a timely manner however it is very hard plastic, and would keep my daughter from banging her head on the spout for sure, but is very HARD plastic and offers no soft cushioning. I have returned immediately. If you are looking for a cute cover for your tub spout this is cute, but if you are looking for a soft cushion to protect a bump, I would look further. this is in no way soft.

Froggie Guards Your Child,

This is an excellent and cute spout guard. It is a great way to protect your child from getting hurt. My son has bumped into in and it has saved him from an accidental cut or bruise.
I do recommend that you clean the inside at least once a month to keep any mold form developing inside the spout guard, just as you clean your bath tub in general to keep it germ and mold free. For safety reasons, a spout guard is a necessity. Froggie Spout Guard (and, my son does call it "Froggie") is an excellent choice. |
