Cute but...,

This review is from: Sassy Busy Bugs Bar (Toy)
Though this bar is absolutely too cute for words, if you have a Graco Travel System don't buy it. My son loves to play with it but we could not attach the bar to his stroller. My husband actually cut two slits (discretely) in the food tray in order for the velcro to slide through. It does now but because the tray is a little high I am always afraid that the butterfly will poke his eye out so I don't let him play with it alone. If it was a little lower he would be able to play with it in his lap so to speak. The little snack bowl is interesting and a nice idea but the lid keeps falling down on his little fingers and he keeps throwing the detachable bowl everywhere. Ive never put food in it because of this and taped it shut. Overall it is a beautiful toy, full of bright colours and things to play with and to keep his attention but my main complaint is the fact that it could not be attached to the stroller.

I saw this toy and thought it looked like so much fun; a great purchase for entertaining my daughter. However, after recieving my order, I couldn't figure out how to attach the Busy Bug Bar onto my stroller. I have the fairly common Graco travel system stroller, with a snack tray for her. I finally figured out the problem; the velcro attachment just isn't long enough to reach around the tray. So in order to use this toy, I will have to purchase extra velcro to attach it.

We purchased this item as our daughter's first stroller bar. It was by far the cutest design I'd seen, and it had that important feature we were looking for--a snack cup! The design is really nice--colorful bugs look at your child, and there's lots to do with them. One soft bug hangs down, and our daughter immediately latched on to him. Unfortunately, this stroller bar was designed to strap on to strollers with *bars* in front. Ours has a tray. In fact, most people I know have a tray in front of their stroller, and I can't imagine who still has a bar (except maybe those strollers you rent at the mall or amusement park, in which case you probably won't have this stroller bar with you!). I have so far been unable to successfully strap this stroller bar onto *anything* we own--carseat, swing, bouncer seat, etc. The only use I can imagine for it (unless we get a new stroller) is at the supermarket. I bet it would work nicely on the shopping cart handle (as soon as our baby is big enough to sit in the cart). The other thing that will probably annoy parents is that the snack cup has a removable insert (for easy cleaning). I can imagine our child happily chucking this insert across the mall--it removes TOO easily! One last note: the makers of this item suggest you save it for special occaisions (long car trips, etc.) when you really need your child to have something to do. I think this is a smart idea--if we just used it at the supermarket, for example, the baby would be less likely to tire of it. At any rate, because of the poor design, I don't think there's any danger of over-use here.
