This review is from: Sassy 836 - Fascination Station (Toy)
We recieved Fascination Staion as a baby shower gift and have put it to good use in one capacity or another since my sons birth. The Station has a varity of exciting colors, textures, and sounds. Due to these characteristics the toy can be used to encourage your child in developing the early skill such as tracking, reaching, and eventually playing independently with a toy. All of these steps in development can easily be observed using the Station. The suction cup at the base allows you to place it on most flat surfaces or it can be detached from the suction cup so that the child can hold it and play. So far it has proven to be a very durable toy. My son has thrown it from his high chair on several occations. The only complaint of the toy is that it detaches from the suction cup if it is banged hard enough. This allows for a very strong child to remove it from where a parent has placed it (highchair) and throw it. Thus, as in my case, proving its durability. This is a toy that I highly recommend. It can be used at various times of your childs' development. My little one loves it!!!!

Little ones love this toy! (but I have 2 minor problems), November 17, 1999

I bought this toy for my second daughter almost 2 years ago. I loved the colors and all the different rattles, but mostly I bought it to attach to my Exersaucer. Unfortunately, I have one of the VERY early models and the suction cup does not fit, and I've found that it doesn't stick very well to other surfaces either. (Perhaps they have fixed this since other reviews are saying how well it sticks.) Anyway, my daughter loved playing with it so much that I decided to keep it. Today, I just brought it out to show my twins - they were enthralled! The only minor problem is that the cylinder with the little ball has gotten rusty from me washing it (since it is TOOOO attractive for little mouths). I'm going to try putting it in the dishwasher, but I'm not sure that it will come clean. All in all, I would definitely purchase it again as it gave my second daughter and now my new ones so much joy.

SHAKE ~ RATTLE & HOLD, August 17, 1999

That is right~ SHAKE, RATTLE & HOLD.. BUY THIS ONE ~ it is worth it weight in GOLD! It can be used by your child during ALL stages of their development. It is like a rattle with noise and movements but it can be used in MANY MANY WAYS. You can shake it like normal rattles or put it in the suction cup so it can be attached to a high chair, table top, stroller tray etc. It comes in the Popular Black & White Colors but also has added bright colors and dots to keep your childs interest. It also is STRONG and can be thrown, beat against things and still comes back for more. I have also found it can be washed in the dishwasher (top shelf) so GERMS will go BYE BYE..Perfect for Teething, Long Road Trips, or Just Because. It I could only of had one toy for my son this was it. He is now 13 months and he still LOVES it you can't say that about most toys. So get the most for the $$$ Try this Toy today!!!

Worth every penny!, November 26, 2000

My 3 1/2-month-old is just enthralled by this toy. We bought her an exersaucer-like toy to sit in and stuck the Fascination Station on it (it has a suction cup on the bottom which makes it great for highchairs, too), and she has no interest in any of the other toys attached to this $80 seat that we bought her...she'll just sit there and spin her Fascination Station for 15 minutes at a time. She loves the great noise that the blue and yellow rattle makes (and it's not annoying to me!) and she also thinks the smiley-face is smiling just for her! Granted, she may show more interest in the other toys later when she's more mobile, but for now the minutes that this toy has bought me to vacuum or shower have been worth every penny ... that I invested in this toy.

My 5 month old is truly "fascinated" with this toy, as are my 2 and 4 year olds. True, the base wont stick to my exersaucer but that's about all!I love the removable base and different ways to put the rattle into it. This was the first toy my daughter was able to play with because every tiny bat of her hand made lots of sounds and movement and she didn't have to hold on to it. My toddlers enjoy the challenge of making the parts spin different directions. This is the only rattle that wont be left at the bottom of the toy box in a couple months.

Not quite as fun as it looks, November 30, 1999

My daughter is 7 months and we've had this toy for a couple of months. The problem is that the toy detaches from the base so easily that she detaches it all the time. But once the wheel is detached from the base it is very hard for her to spin. This makes it less fun that we had hoped it would be. It's not a terrible toy; she likes it.

My son loves to play with this when he is in his highchair. Just stick the suction cup to the tray. It also pops off the suction cup base so you can take it with you. Another winner from Sassy.

I thought that this toy would be the perfect companion to my Exersaucer being that it had a large suction cup base. It's not. The suction cup doesn't stay attached for more than about 5 seconds and the toy is too heavy for the base. One whack with my 6.5 month old's hand and it goes flying. He does like to try to hold it as a rattle but it is quite heavy to be just a rattle. If they could make the suction cup more reliable and make the base hold on to the toy (maybe a latch?) I would highly recommend it. With its shortcomings I have to say that I wouldn't have bought it had I known.

My son loved this toy. He enjoyed playing with it in his highchair until he was 10 months old. At that point he was strong enough to pull the toy from its' base. He pulled it so hard, he smashed himself in the face with it. After that upsetting experience, we didn't put it in the base anymore. He did still play with it as a rattle, but it did not hold his attention as well. I would like to see this toy redesigned so that it cannot be separated from its' base.

I couldn't get this toy to stick to *anything* using the suction cup, so I was pretty disappointed at first since I bought it to attach to my daughter's stroller or swing. I have since hung it from her Gymini Gym though and it keeps her attention more than any of the toys that came with the gym. Not a total waste after all! :-)
