Awesome for tiny breastfed baby!,

My second son was a little over 6 lbs when we brought him home and gagged on evey paci and bottle and even gagged when I nursed him! Finally we tried the Mam Nano paci and he could use that. We ordered some of the Mam bottles that same day. SUCCESS!!! A year later he is still nursing, but when we need a bottle, he will still only take the Mam.
I have read some of the other reviews and one spoke of the bottom air vent being pointless and leaking. As for the pointless comment, it is not. When a baby sucks the bottle it creates a vaccum and causes the air to "leak" around the silicone gasket. And I have NEVER had one leak! The lids are a little difficult to get off, but in my opinion that is a plus. They don't just fall off in the bag and my elder son can't get them off and play with them when I am not looking. Also, I used the Playtex nurser system with my first son and loved that the clean up was so easy. With these bottles, if you leave the gasket off of the bottom, you can use the playtex traditional bags (not the drop-ins). Makes clean up a breeze and also the baby doesn't have to tip the bottle to get anything. I would recommend these bottles in a heart beat and will be using them with my next child!

We transitioned to the bottle for pumped breast milk kind of early, but my baby wouldn't take several different bottles, including a Nuk one, and an Adiri (Tried a few more, as well). I ended up with these 5 oz mam bottles, and he loves them. The bottom has this contraption on it that allows the bottle to vent as the baby sucks, so he doesn't have to stop sucking to let more air in the bottle. The nipple is also flat, and easy for the baby to latch on to.
Now he's 1 year old, and we're still using these bottles. He doesn't even like the level 2 or 3 nipples. He likes the slow nipple, and the 5 oz bottle. I don't know why this bottle doesn't have more market share, because it's a great product.

Only bottle son would take,

My 4 month old son started daycare at 3 months. Up until that point he had been solely breastfed. We ended up trying about five kinds of nipples and bottles, he refused to eat from any of them - even the Nuk the peditrician recommended. Then a friend suggested Mam. Frustrated and out of options I ordered a three pack of the small bottles. He took to them the first feeding. I was so thankful we have since ordered the 8oz and the sippy cup for him to grow into. They are also fantastic because you know the whole thing is clean. The bottom screws off so there is no wondering if the bottle brush hit everything - unlike my breastpump bottles that I'm always scrubbing. I LOVE THESE and really recommend them.

Meh...I've used better bottles...,

When I found out I was pregnant with our second child, I also discovered that they no longer made the parts to our old bottles that I would have simply replaced. I could have bought the updated version of the old bottles, but I'd had a bad experience with them. So, I went searching for a new vented, anti-colic bottle system that didn't have nine million parts to it. I went with these bottles on recommendation from a friend who had used them and loved them. I can't say that I feel the same about them.
1) My daughter has had no trouble with the nipples whatsoever. She uses mam pacifiers so it's not a big change to her. It's sort of nice that their are three different flow stages if you don't want to agonize over whether or not just to take a straight pin and widen the holes in your stage 1 nipples yourself. 2) I had never really considered the wide base, but bottle tipping has never really been a primary concern of mine. 3) Yes, the lids are tight. They are designed to be that way. You must make sure that the lids are screwed on correctly, or they will leak. 4) The venting system isn't any different from any other venting system I've used before really. You must press the white silicon vent all the way down into the base or it will leak. This is not rocket science, just common sense. 5) My biggest complaint is that we have been using these bottles for 4 months and the paint or whatever on the sides that measures fluid ounces is coming off on some of the bottles. Perhaps if you hand wash all your bottles, this wouldn't happen to you, but ours go through the dishwasher almost every single day. 6) If you are feeding formula as opposed to breastmilk, my husband and I have found the translucency of the bottle causes it to be a little difficult to read how much water you have added to the bottle. 7) Despite all this, my daughter is still incredibly gassy. Maybe it's just my child, but she still manages to swallow huge amounts of air with these bottles. Now that we need larger than 5 oz. bottles, I am buying larger bottles in a different brand. She all ready seems happier and swallows less air.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sassy Baby's Mam 5 oz. Boy Bottle - 3 Pack (Baby Product)
We purchased the MAM bottles for our breastfed baby who only likes his MAM pacifier. We started with NUK but baby would fuss and we had a difficult time getting the right flow. I was unable to find these in any store so we ordered from Amazon. Here are some pros and cons to this bottle and some tips for use. 1) The nipple: baby seems to like it, has a moderate flow from the "low flow nipple," is flat and textured making it easy to suckle. 2) Bottle construction: wide design doesn't get tipped or knocked over easily, found the measuring lines are a little off, "anti-cholic system" is pointless and an extra step to clean/can also leak. I really don't understand this feature. The bottom colored part of the base is full of holes to "vent" the bottle and screws onto the main part of the bottle. However, for the milk not to leak out, there is a rubber gasket on the bottom of the bottle blocking the holes, making it rather pointless. Why not just make a solid bottom? If the gasket is not perfectly aligned the milk can leak out the bottom. I checked mine one day before use and poured in 5oz of breast milk that ended up on the counter before I could even pick it up. No matter how well I check them, they still seem to leak sometimes so I have started putting water in them before I use them to make sure they aren't leaking. 3) The lid: Fits very tightly, It is nice not having to put a disc in the bottle to bring it somewhere but this cap can be very hard to remove. If the nipple part is not attached to the bottle, it's impossible to remove. Overall, a good bottle that my breastfed son seems to like but as I find with so many other things, is flawed in it's design.
