Just Another "Average" Bath Toy,
By Mom of 3 boys (Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sassy Car Wash Bath Toy (Baby Product)
Like many other bath toys, the Car Wash Bath Activity Toy has lots of features and options. The whole thing floats, each car has a different water effect (squirt, strain, pour), and the orange thing in the center squirts water onto the cars. There's a piece that attaches at the high end that can "ferry" the cars around the tub - it will float with one of the cars on it. The hook at the low end is designed to hang - you can 'park' the cars in the net and hang the entire thing to dry. However, the hook is too small for a towel rack or tub spout, it would really only fit over coated wire items. The whole contraption is big, but fits fine when we have 2 boys in the tub. (I only mention this because some people don't like big bath toys). The "car wash" squirty feature is hard to operate, especially for my 2 year old, and even somewhat for me!
One thing that makes this toy unique is that it's not a stereotypical water toy - it's not a boat or aquatic animal. If your child loves cars, it may be a big hit - but otherwise, it's just another bath toy: fun but not fabulous.

Suddenly bathtime is fun again!,
By
This review is from: Sassy Car Wash Bath Toy (Baby Product)
After reading some lackluster reviews, I went ahead and ordered this anyway, and am so happy with this toy! My wheels-loving 4 1/2 year old and his 18 month old little brother both just love this toy and now bathtime is a much looked-forward-to time of the day(!). My older son was a bit disapointed at first that none of the cars' wheels turn, but after I explained that if the cars had axles, they might rust, he quickly got over his disapointment with the excitement of adding soap suds to the sponge pads to wash the cars and then shower them off, then up and around to do it all over again! Unlike in other reviews, my son has no trouble with the shower head; once I explained he had to give it repeated little squeezes, not one big squeeze, and doesn't mind the tight fit of the cars through the pads, but of course he is older and able to understand explanations like these. My 18 month old loves to watch his older brother's skill with the showerhead, and even hands him cars to 'wash', while he pours with the firetruck and squirts with the green car. They both like the up-and-down-and-around track, I like how the cars all neatly store inside while it drips dry from our shower caddy. It's just amazing to have a toy that they can both enjoy and even share plus it stores well! How often does that happen?! Great toy!

Fun for kids who love cars,

This review is from: Sassy Car Wash Bath Toy (Baby Product)
My son first started playing with this toy when he was 18 months. He still plays with it today, at 3-1/2 -- sometimes even out of the tub. He loves cars, so he's naturally biased towards enjoying this simple, but fun toy.

Fun for a while,

My 14 month old got this toy for Christmas last year. She had lots of fun with it, as did my then 4 year old. The shower head was hard for the little one to squeeze, but that wasn't the big problem. Despite our efforts to squeeze out all the water at the end of bath time, after a few months the inside of the shower head had so much mildew that we had to cut it off of the toy. We thought they could still play with the track part, but without the shower my girls soon got bored with it and it has not been played with in months.

Cute toy but won't squirt water now,

We bought this toy in hopes that it would keep my very active little one seated in the tub. He loves cars so I figured it would be great. He gets very frustrated becuase the cars can't go all the way around the track. There are places on the side where the car is supposed to go through things that are supposed to spin. My son gets frustrated because he can't get them through. Also, the thing that sprays water on the cars broke. It won't squirt water anymore. I agree with the other poster though, it was really hard to squirt.

Not toddler friendly,
This review is from: Sassy Car Wash Bath Toy (Baby Product)
I bought this bath toy for my 2 year old. It's not very user-friendly - the cars can barely squeeze between the car wash and roller functions. It took a lot of effort on my part and my son couldn't do it himself. The sprayer was cute although my son couldn't really do that himself either because you have to have patience for the sprayer to fill with water after you squeeze it to spray the water. I wouldn't recommend it for young toddlers.

Good but with problems,
This review is from: Sassy Car Wash Bath Toy (Baby Product)
My son loves cars so this was a fun toy. However, despite emptying the water out of the "carwash" after every bath, it still developed mold/mildew inside. we cleaned it once but it soon came back.

Still fun after all these years,

My son received this toy as a present, when he was just 10 months old. He is now three-and-a-half and STILL LOVES playing with it! Yes, the cars were a little hard to get thru the "carwash", at first, but after constant play, the little sponges softened up and the cars squeeze thru, with little difficulty. The sprayer still works and the cars are holding up well, with little evidence of wear. This toy has made bathtime a pleasure for the past 2 years.

Great toy, although I can't imagine a 9 month old playing with it. It's cute, but all they would do with it is chew on it. My other two kids (1 boy and 1 girl) drive the cars up and down, wash them in the car wash and dump and fill with the little truck. I'm very happy with this toy.

My 2 1/2 year old son received this as a Christmas gift from Santa. He absolutely loves it and I love that it has a hook to hang it up to dry. The only drawback is that it is difficult to get him out of the bath because he wants to stay in the tub to play with this car wash. Definitely one of the best bath toys out there.
