I originally purchased the Baby Bjorn long handled spoons for my six-month old who is starting on solids. Those spoons were just recalled for safety concerns that the soft spoon end could fall off. These spoons are an excellent replacement. The spoon bends a bit to allow the food into my daughter's mouth and they change color if the food is too hot. Also, they are 1/2 the price of the Baby Bjorn spoons.

These are not BPA free which I didnt even realize until after I purchased... I would not recommend these!

Someone gave me these spoons, and I rarely actually used them as spoons. Both of my kids LOVED to bite on these and use them like a teether because the spoon part is "bendy" and rubbery and they could get it back into their mouths and bite on it, especially when the side and back teeth were coming in. Regular teethers are so round that they didn't work on anything but the front teeth, and I'm telling you, gnawing on this spoon was the ONLY thing that relieved the pain and comforted my son. I'm buying more now because after carting these all over the place we've lost them and I have yet to find a teether that could replace this. (Oh, and they are great to use as regular spoons too because they are so soft and gentle!) Whichever way you want use it, I highly recommend these!
