4.0 out of 5 stars Works for me!
I've been using this product for 5 years.
I know exactly what the problem is that all the "1 star" reviewers are having.
This product is NOT designed to fit over a faucet.
It is designed to fit over a SHOWER HEAD.
It does NOT fit on a faucet as faucets are not usually round as this products connector is. Mine fits perfectly over the round shower...

1.0 out of 5 stars cute idea, but just doesn't work
I completly agree with the first person's review. I tried to fit it on our tub spout, but it would not conform to it and I had to hold it on the spout in order for it to work at all. It is so cute and I wish it would stay on, because my son loves to play with it, but it is too hard to sit there and hold it.

It does NOT fit on a faucet as faucets are not usually round as this products connector is. Mine fits perfectly over the round shower head. The blue rim you see in the picture is actually a clamp that holds the it on. Inside that clamp is a rubber gasket with a round hose to create a non-leak seal. The hose hangs down from the shower head and does NOT COME OFF.

The only problem I have with this product is after 2 - 3 YEARS, the rubber gasket in the end wears out and it begins to leak where it connects to the shower head. 2 - 3 years is pretty good for a $10 product. Mine just wore out (for the 2nd time in 5 years) so I am going to buy another.

I had been looking for this all over town, desperately trying to replace our original after it had worn out after nearly five years of use. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon, and chuckled at the thought that "you can't always believe what you read." I have no idea why so many folks seem to have a problem with this. Sure, you have to keep the water pressure down, but think of it as a low-flow, water-saving device. Besides, how strong of a spray do you need to rinse off a baby/toddler/preschooler? As far as fitting it onto a bathtub fixture, just be sure you're using the correct gasket and fitting the cup completely over it. It takes a little "elbow grease" and getting used to, but for me, the fun the kids have and the ease of use I have make it worth it.

The product fits just fine over our bathtub faucet. The problem with it is that the seal and faucet attachment are so poorly designed that they cannot withstand but a tiny bit of water pressure before the water starts leaking profusely and spraying all over the place through the seal attachment. The only way to get rid of the leak is to reduce water pressure to about a trickle which is useless to bathe the baby. The hose part is also made of a plastic that kinks very easily and stays that way, contributing to the problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible product!!, January 11, 2008
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

I was able to fit this product over both my bath faucet and sink faucet with some effort. However, all the other reviews were correct about it not being able to withstand ANY water pressure whatsoever. I had to turn the water down so low the water didn't spray out, but rather dribbled out, making it completely useless. When I put the water pressure on any stonger, the faucet attachment part sprayed out water, and eventually popped off, making a huge water mess. I tried emailing Sassy about this but they never responded. DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$$$!!!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother! It stinks!, April 12, 2007
This review is from: Sassy Happy Hippo Bath Shower Spray (Baby Product)
My sister bought this for her tub. It wouldn't fit the bathtub spout, so she gave it to my mom to use when the grandkids were over. It didn't fit my mom's tub either. My mom gave it to me, but it does not fit either of our tub spouts. Apparently it works with very few bath tub spouts, and none of our four types were one of them. Chances are, yours isn't either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Is Your Child the Only One Using the Bathtub..., May 20, 2010
This review is from: Sassy Happy Hippo Bath Shower Spray (Baby Product)
This is a cute idea, but the execution and overall usefulness leave much to be desired. My daughter purchased this when her son was transitioning from his infant bathtub to an inflatible tub that would fit in the regular bathtub. She thought this shower spray would help with the bathing process and that it was cute. Although difficult to attach to the faucet, the Sassy did fit onto the 20 year old fixture and did not leak. The spray was not forceful which was a positive as her son got used to being bathed in the big tub.

Unfortunately, that tub in which the Sassy was being used was the one in the guest bathroom. Thus, whenever she has guests the Sassy Shower Spray must be removed from the faucet or the pressure from the main shower head would blow it off the faucet and cause damage to the Sassy. Additionally, there is the question of durability since the Sassy must be removed and put back onto the faucet repeatedly. It is plastic and does not feel particularly sturdy.

I would suggest purchasing one of the hand-held shower heads on Amazon rather than the Sassy Shower Spray. Those products are of higher quality construction, do not require removal for someone other than the baby or child's usage, and provide greater value for the consumer. However, if your infant or small child is the only person using a particular bathtub or if you need something to fill an Amazon order so that you get free shipping, this might be something you consider. Otherwise, there are much better products on the market.

3.0 out of 5 stars It does what I need it to...., February 14, 2010

I loved the idea of the hippo with the temp sensitive cheeks. I use it to rinse my 3 year old's hair in the bath. It can't take too much pressure without pushing water back up to the shower head, but I don't need much to rinse. She loves it and it does what I need it to. For $9 can't complain.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works for me!, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Sassy Happy Hippo Bath Shower Spray (Baby Product)
I purchased it because I took my 3-years old son to beach in this summer. It does fit into bathtub faucet in hotel. It's easy-installed. But I do want to share my experience. At first, I read the instruction quickly. I put the ring with adapter into faucet. It's very hard and could not be fit. Later, I took out the adapter and just used the ring. I can install it less than 15 seconds.

I also find a way to have it stay longer. Water pressure is not only one of the keys. Water tempature is another key. If the water is a bit warmer, it stays on faucet less than 1 minute. The water tempature is pretty much the one for newborn baby. If your bathtube has 2 knobs (one for cold water and one for hot water), you probably can use it. Also, you need to turn on the cold water first and then hot water. As mentioned, if the water is a bit warmer, it doesn't stay long. I think it's due to the soft (or cheap??) plastic of the ring. I have silly thought. If you put the ring into the refrigerator before use, it may stay longer. I haven't tried it though. As a recap, it will stay pretty long (talking about 5-10 minutes or longer) if the water tempature and pressure are right.

As a parent, I will let my son using it for summer time only due to water tempature. As a customer, I'm happy with this product for such price. My son likes it very much and enjoy his shower time during travel.

I was very excited about this item but it won't fit on my style of bath tub faucet or on the sink faucet either. I think it could be great but I'll never know...
