5.0 out of 5 stars BPA Free and inexpensive!
I'm surprised that there aren't any reviews for the Sassy Less Mess Training Spoon yet; it is a great spoon! I do not see in the description where it is BPA Free, but it IS (please see my picture, the packaging states that it is BPA free). Actually, we are delaying solids, so our daughter has not eaten with it, but she loves to chew on it. It makes a great teether and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun at first
This was a fun spoon at first before we got into serious eating... it helped her from sicking the spoon to far in her mouth. But the little holes that help the food stay on the spoon are hard to clean out. And you cannot choose the color. We use the boon spoon now. :)

Actually, we are delaying solids, so our daughter has not eaten with it, but she loves to chew on it. It makes a great teether and it is so inexpensive. Unlike regular baby spoons, the handle guards prevent gagging and it is softer and somewhat flexible. Once she starts solids, we will buy more of these.

I'm ordering more of these spoons, as one just isn't enough! We're doing baby led weaning & needed a spoon my 6 month old could use herself (we preload it). This is great because it's easy for her to hold, soft for when she bites on it, & the guard prevents her from putting it too far in. I think we'll be able to use it for a while, & think it's definitely worth the price.

I have more than a few different toddler spoons in my cupboard--including the Sassy Baby Less Mess Toddler Spoon, the NUK Gerber BPA Free Graduates Scoopin Spoon, and the NUK Gerber Graduates Soft Bite Spoon For Toddler--and the Sassy spoon is the one that he has the best results with! I think the best part is that he can easily grab the handle with his whole hand--and the handle's rubberized texture also helps with holding it. I highly recommend trying this spoon!

I love the spoon. My 6 month old chews on it and the guard helps him not gag himself. The only complaint I have is that when we ordered it, i didnt notice that it said colors vary. And when we received the spoon, it was PINK! LOL My son doesnt care but my hubby grumbles if he uses anything pink !!

5.0 out of 5 stars 6m old feeds himself, February 22, 2011
This review is from: Sassy Less Mess Training Spoon, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
This spoon is great for baby led weaning or anyone who wants baby to use a spoon right off the bat. At 6 months my son is just starting solids. He likes the soft rubber and I feel like the shape of the spoon encourages him to put the right part in his mouth. I load the spoon, hand it to baby, and enjoy the show! I haven't had any issues with washing it but I do make sure that if I'm not able to wash it right away I do at least rinse it well.

This is a great first spoon for a baby just learning how to eat. The guard prevents the baby from inserting the spoon too far into the mouth. And its made in USA. So great to see a product made here. Lately, it has also become my daughters favorite teething toy.

This spoon was the first one my little guy used and it works great. He still likes to eat from it at 18 months.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really wish we had tried this earlier, September 10, 2011
This review is from: Sassy Less Mess Training Spoon, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
Due to the, um, comical resemblance of the spoon to other adult products, I put this on my baby registry as a joke. And my sister purchased it for my baby shower, again as a joke.

Now, 6m later, and well on our way into baby led weaning, I realize that this spoon is AWESOME. My son loves it. If it's not clean (he can't yet feed himself with the Nuk spoons we have) baby meltdown grade 3 commences. So I came back to order some more, only to find out it's discontinued. Some frantic googling and I find one more, but that's it. So Sassy, please, bring back the training spoon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better teeting aid!, April 8, 2011

I am not sure how this is for eating because my daughter prefers to use it for her teething issues. She loves to chew on the spoon when her new teeth are bothering her. Plus, I don't have to worry she'll shove it down her throat, thanks to the bumper guards. I'm sure when she decides she wants to feed herself it will be a great tool to help her, as well.

This is a great product, but I bought it too late. My daughter is over a year old now. It would be better if she had gotten interested earlier. This just ends up on the floor for her.
