I love this product. It is nice and sturdy, yet it is soft so my baby won't get hurt bumping into it or falling on it. It also looks attractive in her room compared to the plastic toy boxes. She loves keeping her toys in it and exploring all its features (it has a lot). Great value for the money!

In response to the poster who asked about the dimensions, it's 24" wide x 15" high x 15" deep (per description on the front of the box). The carry tote that fits inside is maybe 1/3 the size of that...

I just received this yesterday from my registry, and I had picked it out online, so I was quite pleased at the size. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is quite smelly when you first take it out of the box, so it's "airing out" in our family room right now... I don't expect that it will continue to be a problem once it has gotten exposed to air circulation...

I am giving it 4 stars for now just because of the smell... in case I have to clean it to get rid of the smell. Otherwise, looks like it would be 5 stars (although, as I said, I haven't used it yet).

I originally registered for a step 2 toy box that is a hard plastic. I have two of them already in the basement for my other childrens toys. I changed my mind when I saw this one. I have to say I really like it. It's great and there is no smell to it at all. I love the look of it and the fact that it's soft is a big plus for when he is a bit older and either crawling or walking. I wont' have to worry about him pinching himself or the lid falling down on him. I definetly love the detailing and the little drop down side that looks like a playmat. The extra little bag that comes inside for transporting or additonal storage is great as well. It's a great value and looks really nice in the nursery.

I just purchased this toy box for my 1 year old and am so impressed with it on many fronts. It assembled within 2 minutes without any tools and is SOFT with no hard edges for her to hurt herself on. My daughter loves the colors/triangles/and fold out play mat...the box makes a great toy all by itself. She is able to raise and lower the lid with ease, as it is lightweight and soft. No worrys about pinched fingers, bumped head, or dangerous hinges! And best of all, it holds so many more toys than I expected! Retailed for $34.99 at our Toys 'R Us store, which was much less than the wooden ones of comparable size there. Definitely a 5 star/A+++ toy chest! (I can't detect any smell at all with the material as another reviewer mentioned.)

I have to agree that the box is great looking, better than a rubbermaid tub but I am disappointed with the smell the box has and also that it's not as sturdy as I would hope. My box is kinda out of shape now and the velcro divider that holds it together doesn't hold it together anymore which means the lid doesn't close properly. I've only had this box just over a year and it's now in a spare room with not too many toys in it because I don't like that it didn't hold it's shape.

This toy chest is colorful, cheery, and baby friendly. my 9 months old son loves to play on the activity mat and pull the sun mirror off from it. i love the way the tote comes out and you can dump all the toys on the floor for him to play. afterwards just put everything back and slide it back in its compartment, and the activity mat folds right up and leaves everything neat and clean. However, it DOES smell! when the lid opens/closes, the odor comes out from within. I think it is the material that this chest is made from. I left the top open to air it out, after awhile the smell gets less. But leaving it covered overnight collects the smell again. I love it enough that the smell doesn't bother me as much, but I wouldn't think stick your head in there after it's been closed for awhile is a good idea. it would be rated a 5 if it's not for the smell.

I dont usualy write reviews about things I have bought but I feel I have to for this one. Ijust wanted anyone considering buying this toy box to know that this toy box works ok for light toys, but the minute baby gets to be 6 months to one year the toys are too big and heavy for this box and cause the box to bow out and look terrible. This should be an easy fix considering all the velcro used in making this toy box, but I've tried everything and nothing fixes this problem, the toys are just to heavy... and I am not over stuffing the box either...it's about half full. Very disapointed and looking for a new toy box. My suggestion is dont buy this one take the money you would be waisting here and put it into a little tikes toy box. They are the absolute best, they last forever are low for young children and babies and hold a ton of toys! And they only cost about $15-$20 more than this waist of money. Thanks

I wish I hadn't ordered this online -- too much of a hassle to send back -- however the chemical smell is so strong after airing it out for two weeks that I don't want to put my baby's toys in it.

I wanted a soft, spacious toybox and this one is GREAT. Despite being "soft" it is sturdy and I move it around the room with ease (using both handles). Others have complained about the smell. It does have a "new" smell but was never overwhelming and left soon enough after setting it up. The take-out toy bag is great for on-the-go. The toybox has a divider and I put large toys on one side and smaller toys on the other side in the bag. It doesn't get a five star simply because of the color scheme - a little boring and not what I expected. It's lighter blue than the picture. Still, it is a great product.

I'm not sure about this item. It has a strong odor and is very flimsy. I like that it is soft...but it may be too soft. Will have to see what our son thinks of it. At this point I would not recommend this product.
