Editorial Reviews

From the Author

The truth is what sets people free, but as long as many Denominations and congregations are not teaching the truth of the bible and not addressing the "root cause" of racism, it will never be eradicated from the American culture until it is first eradicated from the congregations and denominations where racism and discrimination had it's roots.  It's a shame that churches do not fall under the EEOC policies of this nation, due to the belief of separation of Church and State.

From the Inside Flap

This book is dedicated to the Holy Spirit-filled people in my life: my mother Gladys B. Jimmerson, who passed away in 1999, my wife Diane L. Jimmerson, my pastor Doctor Rik Stevenson, and my editor and God-sent woman Natalie Hart.

Format: Paperback
In his book "Satan Thinks in Black and White - Racism in the Congregations of America" Ronald B. Jimmerson, Sr. maintains that the first step toward stamping out racism in America is to understand the root causes that have resulted in the indoctrination of discrimination and prejudice prevalent in America today. Jimmerson challenges the Christian church to take the lead in building trust and unity truth, confession and forgiveness by actively addressing these issues.

Jimmerson's writing is confrontational and disturbing, thought provoking and convicting. The format of the book is compact with a balance of narrative, illustrations, and topical headings. The copious use of Biblical references adds to the value of the book as a resource tool for future individual or group study.

The reader is encouraged to take a stand against racist ideas and to move along the continuum of the Christian Walk from being a natural, carnal, or social Christian to a Spiritual Christian acting in accordance with the Biblical principles intended by God.

"Satan Thinks in Black and White - Racism in the Congregations of America" takes a serious look at the inroads of Satan's influence on the American church, culture, and history.

Disclaimer: Ron Jimmerson and I have worked together on numerous community projects over the past ten years. I didn't know that he was even working on this book, however. The title caught me as I was perusing Amazon. Only afterward did I see that Ron was the author. My interests in racism and religion kept me riveted to the page. The writing is like Ron--straight-forward, unflinching, yet always compassionate. If you have ever wondered how religion impacts racism vs. how we would hope it would, this is the book for you. Ron is upfront about his assumptions and perspectives. He writes from the studied and experienced heart of an African-American evangelical Christian deacon with no apologies. The book challenges the very deepest emotions and theological/practical intersects in the simplest language and with real-life stories that will melt your heart. I can't think of anyone of my acquaintance who would not profit from reading this book. It is on my faith-based agency's staff "must read" list.
