You should be aware that these lights DO NOT fit in a standard bulb socket. They have a much smaller base. I ordered quite a few to use outside cabins we rent, but had to send them all back because they were too small. The description should note this.

- Less heat from the bulb
- Less bugs, but there ARE still bugs around the bulb. (this is to be expected, this product just limits the number of bugs attracted to the light a bit)
- Decent brightness, I would say it's similar to a 60 watt standard bulb as stated in the product description.

Overall I would think for the price these are a good outdoor summer light choice. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the yellow color, but it's a nice soft summer light.

Serves its purpose. Cut down on insects dramatically.Fairly priced. Moths no longer swarm the patio and less crickets. I would buy again as long as shipping is included.

Cuts bug activity dramatically, especially when compared to white CFLs used outdoors. Even the old incandescent bulbs were better than white CFLs when it comes to bugs. But these yellow CFLs do well. There are still some bugs, but it's much better with these than anything else I've used and electricity usage is 75 or 80% less than with incandescent bulbs - plus bulb life is far longer. Just be sure to dispose of them safely, they most likely have small amounts of mercury so take them to Home Depot or someplace else that collects hazardous items like this rather than just putting them in the trash.

I needed these yellow lights for the house's exterior. We've just been through some temperatures close to 0F and their light never faltered as some other compacts have.
They're on a timer and function well.
This price is nearly half of our local "big box" store prices.

Just went through a super rainstorm with these "puppies" on all night and no 'blow-outs'. I've replaced my home & studio lights with Energy Saving bulbs over 4 years ago and have seen a marked drop in my electric bills. Next stept, solar all the way, baby.....

Score one for durability. These have lasted well in outdoor lights under all weather conditions. They offer some reduction in but attraction but not as much as I expected. Seems the older ,now banned, bulbs worked better. Don't know why that would be.

it has a good wattage and keeps the bugs away - yippee! I don't like using the smelly candles - and I hate bug zappers - makes me feel like a murderer. So these are ideal. I will check back in a year to let you know about it's longevity :=)
