Product Description

Fluorescent lamps are phosphorous-coated tubes filled with a low-pressure mercury vapor. Light is produced by passing an electric arc between tungsten cathodes at opposite ends of the tube. This causes the mercury vapor to generate a radiant energy.

We have lampshades that rest over the light fixtures and no other bulbs will fit.

The light is bright, and 5000k is definitely my favorite bulb color.

I bought these bulbs for the bright white color and they deliver. They work fine in my floor lamp that needed bulbs with a candelabra base. I couldn't find them locally but fortunately Amazon came through. Two bulbs alone light up the entire room pretty well and I don't have to put up with that "soft white" color anymore!

I bought two and one burned out within only a few hours of use. So I lowered my rating dramatically. I don't know how long the other will last.

-------------------------------------
This is a compact small bulb that doesn't look too out of place in a candelabra socket in my ceiling fan. I strongly prefer the 5000 K white light and was delighted to find such a small bulb with good light output. It's not going to put your eyes out, but with four of them in the ceiling fan, it provides quite adequate lighting for my wife's sewing room. It's certainly a lot brighter than the incandescent bulbs it replaced. And the price is quite reasonable, too. I thought about LED lighting, but LED lights are often too directional - not to mention still being too expensive. Also it seems to me that the lumen specification of LED lights is overstated compared to CFC lights. I'm usually disappointed with the light output of LED lights.

The light is bright, and 5000k is definitely my favorite bulb color. Works perfectly. Provides a LOT of light in a 3 or 4 bulb ceiling fan.

I have been looking for CFL's for my outdoor light fixtures that use these long lasting CFL bulbs. There are others available, but they were all to tall to fit in the fixture. These are only slightly larger than the traditional bulb.

If you must, leave these lights on all the time. At 1/7 the energy consumption and 4 times the useful life, these are well worth the money. I was also surprised by the size of the bulbs. I had expected the width to be larger than the typical flame style bulbs but to my pleasant surprise, they are nearly the same size.

We have lampshades that rest over the light fixtures and no other bulbs will fit. They are actually a little brighter than a standard 60W incandescent bulb. We've had these in half our lights for over 3 years and have not replaced a single one.
