Disclosure: I was contacted by Satechi and given a sample of this product specifically for the purpose of reviewing it.

Test devices:
Google Nexus 7
Asus Transformer TF-101
Kindle Fire HD 7"
HTC One
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
HTC EVO 4G LTE

Holdtight, this entire review is being type by thumbs via an ST-K100 paired with my Nexus 7. To be honest, the Satechi ST-K100 is nothing more than an Iontics ID-K100 Plus (http://www.amazon.com/IONTICS-ID-K100-Illuminated-Keyboard-Computers/dp/B008UZNB44). No Satechi branding whatsoever on the unit, packaging, etc. I mention this for those that purchase one and think they've gotten the wrong item. As rebranding/rebadging is common, I'm not going to hold it against the product itself.

Given the list of the test devices above, it should be pretty obvious what kinds of devices I would want this for - Android. Testing with another OS was not done, nor is that info covered in this review. According to the product description, the keyboard should be right at home with Windows, iOS, Mac OS, and Android. The ability to switch modes, going from mouse to arrow keys (mouse is default) was a feature I was certainly interested in seeing in action. Having found a better explanation of what functions were supported (http://www.iontics.com/products/id-k100-plus), I was disappointed to see there were some features lacking for Android 3.x and above devices. No "Back" or "Menu" function, which are important parts of the Android OS. Also tossed in there are some added functions, such as audio control. To get a wide range of Android devices, I included two phones as well as two tablets, one of each being a Nexus device, which is as close to pure Android as it's possible to get.

One of the major changes in modern tablet and mobile device UI is the loss of the on-screen cursor - you get whatever you prod with your finger. But Windows (at least up to Win 7) still has a pointer and you still need to move it. So I searched high and low for a small Bluetooth keyboard, for my new Fujitsu tablet, that (a) included a mouse-like thing and (b) could be used by a left-hander. This is about the only thing I found.

OK, it is very small - about the size of an iPhone, though much lighter. Precision is required when typing, but hoorah for the real tactile feedback. The mouse pointer thing works well - anyone used to the trackpoint button on a Lenovo/Thinkpad will be at home, and the mouse button positioning works OK, albeit best with your right hand.

It charges from any USB port (including an Apple charger), does take the advertised 6 hours before ready the first time. Pairing worked fine with both the iPhone 4 and the win 7 tablet.

In the end, I also bought a relatively huge wired USB conventional keyboard+trackpoint while I search for the perfect lots-of-text device for a 10"-class tablet (basically it would be this device but just stretched by x2 in width and height). But this is a good travel keyboard for people who just don't get on with soft on-screen mobile device keyboards.

Works well with my computer, cell phone, and tablet. It doesn't work for my Xbox which is why I originally purchased it. But I use it daily. And it is nice and compact, with a back lit key option. Which is great for night.

I recently sold my laptop and now travel with the 13" Cintique HD and a mac mini and needed a keyboard. I purchased another lightweight keyboard for travel, but wanted a really small size one. After looking at this keyboard a few times—decided to go for it. It works wonderfully for me and I don't have a larger keyboard on my lap or in front of my screen. It is also nice for my iPad or iPhone.
So far I am happy with my purchase.

I haven't used it much yet, but I have liked it so far! It's very convenient. I hate using the touch screen to type.

In my apple tv 3 it's a perfect keyboard, but the integrated jog slider mouse not work well for me. I have to change the mode of operation of jog slider mouse to move better in menu options of apple tv.
The keys to control play, pause, ... are hidden in the middle of the letteres, for an apple tv is better another location.
Maybe can incorporate an switch with preconfigurated keys to use with the most popular combinations and aditional keys to multimedia actions (play, pause, ...), example for apple tv, android tablet, apple tablet, ...
Finaly is a very good product and works well with their illuminated keyboard.
thanks
